YP Restaurant Reviews: Austin Edition
I fancy myself a bit of an amateur foodie. I’m just enough of a foodie to make it my personal mission to try every restaurant in the city (I’ve lived in Austin for two years and I’m not even close to accomplishing this goal – I don’t think it’s even possible), but not enough of a foodie to be a snob about the latest hot spot or chef (which Austin has plenty of – hot spots, not snobs).

Easy Tiger – Funky casual decor, giant hot pretzels with beer cheese, and Mexican Coke! Three of my favorite things in life.
The new YP app lets me share reviews and photos from my latest restaurant experience, like my recent lunch with friends at Easy Tiger on 6th Street. Since opening this spring, Easy Tiger has quickly become one of my favorite lunch spots in the city. I take all my friends there for the giant hot pretzels, beer cheese, and Mexican Coke (they do have an extensive beer list, but I’m a bit of a lightweight, especially at lunch) and tell clients and friends that are in town that they must visit – even if it’s just to pick up a pastry from the bakery at the entrance. What better way to get the word out about a kickin’ rad local business than to use the YP app so that locals and visitors can see my review and photos when they’re starving and looking for a great place to chow down? Reviews are super easy to add (and let’s face it, it’s fun to write about food) – just locate the restaurant by search, and click the … to add your review, rate your experience, and add photos.
If you’re out and about, looking for a place to eat, you can search the YP app for restaurants by your current locale or you can use the (genius!) menu-item search. Just type whatever food you’re craving – cheesey chicken quesadilla, bacon cheeseburger, pad thai, cobb salad, whatever – into the search and it’ll show you all the restaurants that serve that menu-item sorted by distance! Perfect for those times when you know exactly what you have a taste for but don’t know where to get it. You can also use the YP app to find other local businesses, like salons, cobblers (hey, every girl breaks a heel every now and again), and boutiques.
