Worthy of the Week

1972. “Little Edie” from Grey Gardens reminds you that it doesn’t matter what your house looks like as long as YOU look good. Black and WTF.
Worthy
- You’re pretty.
- I still love all things tortoise shell (scroll to the bracelets at the bottom).
- I’m going East Coast for Labor Day and will be demanding a lobster roll from Luke’s Lobster.
- Hello by Harvey Prince came in this month’s Birchbox and I’m obsessed with it. I can’t stop sniffing myself.
Maybe Possibly Not So Worthy?
- Seventeen magazine pledges to “cut back” on photoshopping. I know there’s been a lot of cheering about this, but does it sound half-hearted to anyone else?
- I am super excited about the London Olympics and think the uniforms are très chic, but they’re made in China? Really, Ralph Lauren?

such an odd pic!
agree with ur “not worthy” – except on one point…I didn’t like the uniforms to start and after reading this I like them even less…

They’re very East Coast prep school, which I love. But I think the brogues are the highlight for me.

Agreed – Seventeen’s response is half-hearted at best. But then again, it was only a couple of years ago that every magazine/designer/fashion week was all about a better range of body types and we see how that is fizzled. This seems to be like that boyfriend that cries and promises to change after you call him out on his dick behavior. He is a total angel for like 4 months, and then when you stop talking about it, he assumes you’ve forgotten and goes right back to the way he was. Seventeen will say they care now, and they may tone it down, but in 6 months they’ll be back to their regular level of Photoshop fakery. I’ll bet you lunch at Easy Tiger on it!

That is exactly how it’s going to be. The next few issues will be an improvement and then it’ll slowly return to what it’s always been because that’s what sells and that’s what advertisers want.

I was surprised that they weren’t completely ridiculously priced, either! Maybe we should treat ourselves?

Such a cute pic!! The tabby peeking its head out from the top left is too precious. I like her shoes too!
