Back in the day, I held the title of moderator on various forums. I had two or three forums that I visited, almost obsessivly, until things went sour. People started calling names, posting nasty rumors and pictures, and abusing their privileges as moderators. I went on an indefinite forum hiatus after that. It just wasn’t fun any more.

Then I started to visit the boards over at IZEA to ask questions when I first started paid blogging, and I was hooked again. Every one has just the right amount of snark and sass, but they know how to pull in the reins when things start to get out of hand, which they can.

No place is a perfect oasis, but the IZEA board are pretty peaceful and always helpful. Even after being a part of the community for almost two years, I still consult the boards almost daily for news, answers to questions, and updates from the IZEA staff, and sometimes I even join in to help a newbie out and share a little of what I’ve learned as a Postie.
