The REAL Secret – The Sedona Method
Things are not going as well as Mike and I had hoped after the big move. My job isn’t what I had expected it to be, Mike is never home because of work, school, and clinicals, and money is tight, no matter how well we budget. I know there are people in far worse situations than we are, but it would be nice to be Happy For No Reason and know that there is an end in sight.I read The Secret in hopes that the Theory of Positive Thinking would help turn our lives around, but the book as a whole didn’t appeal to me. Some of the teachers, like Marci Shimroff, had great advice and their outlook made sense. Other teachers were far too spiritual and hocus pocus for my liking.
Luckily, Marci has expanded on her teachings in The Secret and come out with The Sedona Method, a practice of letting go of all inner limitations to achieve success and happiness. Mariel Hemingway is a big believer in The Sedona Method and used it to overcome her family history of depression and addiction. By letting go of negative thoughts and feelings Mariel realized that those thoughts and feelings weren’t fact, they were opinions she’d formed about herself and that she has the ability to change those opinions. Eventually, she was able to stop the internal struggle of her own self-worth and begin to feel confident and healthy.
Everyone is so quick to say that they don’t feel good, they are having a bad day, or things are not how they had planned them. By repeating those negative opinions over and over, they manifest themselves and things will never go the way you want them to and you will never feel happy. The Sedona Methods banishes those negative thoughts and opinions and helps uncover the happiness that is within everyone by a simple process of letting go.
- Focus on the issue you would like to feel better about.
- Ask yourself: Could I let this feeling go?
- Ask yourself: Would I let this feeling go?
- Ask yourself: When will I let this feeling go?
- Repeat until all negativity is gone.
