The one in which I lose my mind and post a picture of myself in a bathing suit.

I was at the water park last weekend and what I saw was whorendous.

Saggy boobs. Nip slips. Exposed butt cracks. Age inappropriate bikinis – both young and old. Inner tube that weren’t taking anybody down any water slides.

And the newest summertime calamity – the monokini.

Listen. I know I’m no bathing beauty, but I like to think that I know how to present what my mama gave me in the most flattering light possible.

And Oh Lord, did she give me a lot.

I know that I need a swim suit with coverage and support to make me feel comfortable. I know that I won’t accept a swim skirt or neutral color just because that’s what “comes in my size.” I know that I’m not 18 years old, but I’m also not 60 years old, and that there is middle ground.

I know that there are bathing suits that meet these requirements thanks to Lands’ End.

And I know that more woman (specifically those in central Texas who visited Schlitterbahn on the weekend of May 22, 2010) should purchase them.

Next time (as if there will ever be a next time) I’ll make sure I have a full length mirror and Windex.

Lands’ End provided the bathing suit pictured. Every other bathing suit you’ll ever see me in was purchased by me from Lands’ End. Please see my site policy if you have any questions.

Woo woo! I’ll have to suggest Land’s End to Chrissy. She has a hard time finding bathing suits too. Your next trip to the water park should be accompanied by a video camera. Y’know, pics or it didn’t happen!

Wow, that’s a great suit! I haven’t shopped there in ages but I love Land’s End suits because they do a great job with the upper level support thing (which is absolutely necessary when you’re a well-endowed lady like myself).

You look MAH-velous dahling! We are heading to Adventure Island June 10th and I am dreading the “things” my sons will see. I’ve heard a lot about the Land’s End swimsuits but I’ve never bought one…maybe it is time to shop!

I have to say that I love that you’re aware of your body type and what you can pull off and what you shouldn’t attempt to pull off. We definitely need more individuals like you cause G-d knows I get tired of seeing women who think they look good in something when they really don’t.

As a non Texan living in Tx my observation has been like yours! There is A LOT of age inappropriate dressing here!

I have a dear friend who is in her 60′s and has a leathery perpetual tan because she feels naked with out it, bleach blond hair pulled into a pony tail on top of her head, full on make up and major tight pants and saggy cleavage exposure. Not to mention the perpetual pink she wears. I truly consider her the stereotype of the Tx woman! But at times I do find her attire somewhat scary!

    What are these women thinking?

Deborah – I forgot that you’re an honorary Texan, too! Some of the styles are comical, aren’t they?

Oh my gosh! This is a great post. When I rode the subway through Philadelphia every day I was convinced there should be a size to fabric required law. I use to wonder do people really go to work/school dressed like that?

Corrin, I have got to know the style # for that suit! If I could look half as good as that in it my kids would be so happy! LOL Being short and top heavy, I have never found a suit that looks remotely that good. PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE!! Pass the information on to me.
