The Nameless Baby
Posted on January 3rd, 2009 by Corrin
I keep having a dream that Mike and I have a baby girl. If that isn’t disturbing enough, we couldn’t decide what to name her…so we didn’t.
Apparently female pronouns are good enough for our little girl, so why bother with a name!

Awwww…..That it is so sweet. I love baby girls and I vote for Lola!

Oh my! That reminds me of my dream. I think I’ll go write a post about it. It was truly bizarre.

Are you trying?

[...] My friends dream reminded me of a dream I had last night. I think I need to lay off the spicy food before bedtime. Last night I had a dream that someone was searching for their ferret. It had burrowed itself into the hair on my leg. I got the ferret out of my hair and drove it to my niece’s house in Kentucky. I knew she would want the ferret because theirs got old and died. By the way, I do shave my legs. [...]
Hmmmm, could that mean you might be pregnant?

Linda – We’ll keep that in mind if we ever consider rug-rats.

Karen – Spicy food, indeed!

Teena – Not trying. Not even thinking about trying. Not thinking about thinking about trying.
[Reply]
Lynne – Lord I hope not. Though Mike and I have convinced ourselves that we would have beautiful children. Haha.

Perhaps a good symbol would work…
The baby known as “}”

I often wonder what prompts those type of crazy dreams. For me it isn’t spicy food because I don’t like spicy food.

I rarely remember my dreams and when I do, I never think about the special meaning them might have… I guess that makes life easier for me!
[Reply]
Joe – I like it! Maybe it will come into play the next reoccurence of the dream.
[Reply]
Val – Surprisingly, I know what prompted this dream. My aunt and uncle are expecting their 5th child, a little girl, this spring. One of the names they are considering is Amelia, which is one of the few names Mike and I ever agreed on if we have kids. We never told anyone we liked the name for fear a family member would use it before we did, and now it’s a top contender anyway!

Daria – I don’t know much about the whole psychology of dreams, but I do know that when I have a restless sleep is when I remember my dreams. If I sleep like a baby, I don’t remember a darn thing. I guess it’s being in that inbetween state.

That’s a nice name, not too common and yet not “out there” either.

Have you considered Berdean?
[Reply]
There is nothing to consider. Unless we’re crazy enough to get another dog.
[Reply]
It seems obvious to me that your first daughter should be named Skeeterbess, but I suppose a doggy namesake would be good too if you opt out of the whole kid thing.

Skeeterbees is definitely a contender.

That is an interesting dream and normally if interrupted within the REM state you will remember them, although if not pregnant are your planning to have a baby?

Scott – That’s what makes the dream even more bizarre. My husband and I currently have no plans for children.

Confession: I sometimes have baby dreams too. I don’t think there has ever been a discussion about naming them within the dream though.

I REALLY did know someone whose birth certificate listed their first name as FEMALE because the parents didn’t name her right away. I think they call her Carol, but legally, etc, its Female.

Laurie – So, your babies are nameless, too? Haha.
[Reply]
SnackHound – That’s CRAZY! At the least, you think her parents would have legally had her name changed once it was decided on.

Cookies – Thanks for stopping by!

I even dreamed about having a list of babies names.. So when I get married, I know what to name for them!

How weird! I’m a big believer that dreams have meanings. You should look into it. Maybe that means your going to have a baby!
On a side note, I had a dream the other night that I had a kid… She was already about 4 years old and her name was Lauren. Weird…

Bhing – I admit that my husband and have a small list of names, although there aren’t any kids in our foreseeable future.
[Reply]
Cady – Who knows. Wouldn’t it be wild if we could control our dreams?
[Reply]
Sadie – Hopefully said baby isn’t coming in the immediate future. Though it would explain my weight gain. Haha.
[Reply]
Vein – I agree. It is a spooky dream. At least for the time being.
[Reply]
That is very strange… usually though dreams don’t mean what we think they mean.
