Oh hey, what's up?

The Christmas Spirit

How’s this for Christmas spirit…my aunt in Florida sent me a holiday package via UPS. There was a glitch in the UPS system, and the package was mistakenly forwarded to someone with my same last name in the same town.

We’ve spoken to UPS, left a nice voice mail about the mix up with the recipient, and UPS has tried contacting them numerous times, and they will not give the package back!

If a UPS package came to your house addressed to someone else’s name, wouldn’t you give UPS a call so they could come pick up the package and send it on it’s merry way? Especially at Christmas!

Grinch.

That’s so bad. Why would anyone refuse to give back a package that’s not theirs? They shouldn’t have received it in the first place.

So sorry for you. I hope UPS finds a way to get it back for you.

Gin – I think UPS is going to have to reimburse my aunt. I can’t believe the people won’t answer their messages!

Daly – I was going to call them assholes in my post, but I decided that wasn’t in the Christmas spirit, either. Haha.

Jennster – Thanks for putting that idea in my head! I do have their address. UPS gave me their address and home phone number without even asking!

Last Christmas we got a package for someone on a completely different street than us, but still in our neighborhood. It was a toy because it was shipped in the product’s box. I drove it right over and knocked on the door. I can’t believe someone would just keep it after repeatedly being asked to return it. Bah Humbug to them.

If they have an answering machine, I’d mention calling the police to them.

What jack asses! Do some research on Google, track them down, and take that killer dog of yours over to their house, and ring the door bell!

What the hell? Who does that!

That’s such a crying shame. If you didn’t claim it, then fine, they can keep it. But once they know who it belongs to …

Wow, that sucks. Whether claimed or not if it had someone else’s name on it I would return it to FedEx. Seems to me it constitutes theft. If FedEx won’t sort it out you might try the local police?

Last month FedEx delivered two packages to my house that weren’t mine. I delivered one to the correct recipient at the end of the street, and the other I managed to give back to the FedEx guy before he pulled away from the house.

And we had TWO packages delivered to our old address (USPS) that we can’t get back, and it was USPS fault for not forwarding the mail like they should have been. I was quite annoyed, and the recipient won’t return either.

    People are crappy.

and OMG totally weird that UPS gave out the name, addy, and phone number without even blinking! Great privacy policy they’ve got in place there -lol-

That’s horrible! I can’t believe someone would intentionally keep something that isn’t theirs AND not return it when it’s simply a matter of having UPS pick it up!
