The Architect and The Painter

Oh, Charles and Ray.

If you’re into documentaries, Charles and Ray Eames: The Architect and The Painter (Which you can watch on the PBS website. Seriously PBS? I love you.) is a really fascinating story – he courted her while still married, she was the driving force behind his design and was considered his contemporary (at least by Charles – this super awkward video of the debut of a new Henry Miller chair about sums up how other people felt), he was accused of taking advantage of a young team of designers by claiming full credit for the work, they were sought-after by of the world’s biggest companies and made movies for everything from IBM computers to The World’s Fair, Ray died exactly ten years to the day after Charles, etc.

I’ve always had big dreams of finding an Eames chair somewhere unexpected (and cheap). Do you have one?
