Did you spend Valentine’s Day alone? Did your date not bring you candy and flowers? Did you get all dressed up for nothing? Well, immediately go your local drug store and stock up on all the half off Valentine’s candy, teddy bears, and fuzzy handcuffs, because once you sign up for passion search you’ll be celebrating Valentine’s Day the right way on the 14th of everymonth!

Passion Search is a 100% free dating site with over 19 million members. Talk about a lot of fish in the sea! No credit card required, no lengthy quizzes to take, no introspective questions to answer. Just a great site to connect with others that are looking for the same thing you are…passion!

Now, even though I am happily married, I did go ahead and scope the site out for all of my single readers because I want you all to put those fuzzy handcuffs to good use! I now also have a secret dating profile in case my husband is looking for passion behind my back! Juuust kidding!

A simple intro helps you narrow down your search by gender, location, and age and then you are ready to start meeting people. It can’t get any easier than that!

I have four small cousins, with a fifth on the way, who are always clammering to use the internet when they visit. It probably started when I used to open a Word document and let them type gibberish when they were tiny, but now they are at the age when they see me on online all the time and think that it must be cool so they need to get their hands on the mouse, too.

Unfortunately, they can’t visit the same sites I do. Not that they are nasty, I just don’t want to be the one responsible when their pure little eyes spot something questionable. That’s why the next time they are over, we’re going to play with MagNext, online and off.

MagNext are magnetic building blocks that can be assembled into just about anything, and there is a great kid-friendly website through MEGA Brands with games based on the toy. It’s a virtual world with challenges, messaging, and shopping to outfit your magnetic icon.

I bounced from room to room playing different games, and admit to completely stinking at the challenges, but it was a lot of fun, and I’m sure my cousins can teach me a thing or two.

MagNext Mega Brands

It’s definitely a fun site where you don’t have to worry and can let your kids enjoy some online time of their own.

Every year, hundreds of words are dropped from the dictionary in order to make room for newer, trendier words. What happens to the words that don’t make the cut? They get adopted at www.savethewords.org!

My word is starrify, a verb meaning to decorate with stars. A word that should have never been booted from the dictionary, in my opinion. But I tend to starrify most everything, so I might be bias.

Anyone can adopt a word, but once you do, you become responsible for using the word as much as possible to integrate it back into popular usage and hopefully, back into the dictionary!

What word did you adopt?

The holidays may be over, but the spirit of giving can carry on throughout the year with Sears Heroes at Home. The Heros at Home wish registry helps to make sure that the families of our soldiers and veterans have what they need this holiday season, and all year-long.

There are 30,583 military families that are extremely thankful for the Sears gift cards they receive that can help buy clothes, appliances, shoes, and toys. If the video above doesn’t show how valuable our small donations can be, visit the Heros at Home wish registry and read the stories of some of the military families and view some of the necessities and simple luxuries we take for granted on their wish lists.

Sears was kind enough to give me and one of my readers each a $100 gift certificate this holiday season. I donated a portion of my gift card to the Heros at Home wish registry, and I hope the winning reader does the same, because the more we donate, the more each family receives.

Please visit the Heros at Home wish registry and make a donation or leave some words of encouragement for our military families.

Donations are not tax-deductible and will be given to the familes in the form of a Sears gift card.

If you’re wandering aimlessly around my website, lost without categories and tags, don’t fret.

With the help of Lisa, WordPress has been updated. I thought since I’ve been running 2.0 for the past two years, it was time for a change. Unfortunately, my tags and categories didn’t feel the same way.

If I can fix it, I will. If not, categories and tags will slowly return and older posts can have a party in their own category.
