Valentine’s Day and my birthday are approaching, and I know this time of year is stressful for my husband, so I’ve compiled a short list of appropriate gifts. He can feel free to pick and choose based on his tastes and the gift giving day.

I’ve been wanting a nice jewelry dish or ring holder, and I think this weiner dog ring holder is perfect.

I’ve also been telling Mike for the pasts six years that peppermint ice candy from Fannie May is my favorite candy. Hopefully this will be the year he gets the hint and buys a small box because I only break my diet on special holidays. Like my birthday.

I thought I was over buying Tiffany’s jewelry, but they’ve come out with a few things that I would love. The green quartz earrings, Elsa Peretti round earrings, and if we are suddenly independently wealthy, the Paloma Picasso sugar stacks ring collection.

I also told Mike he needs to take me to see Mary Poppins in Chicago. I saw it on Broadway last summer and loved not, so I need to see it again. I love Ashley Brown.

On to more reasonable gift requests, I’d would be excited to get a diamond key ring light, forget me not ring, I’m not a paper cup and sunjars. I’d also kind of loving the new Ugg rain boots in gold.

Obviously not an exhaustive list, but a nice start. Flowers and books are always crowd pleasers, too.

Good luck, Mike!

When I started Atkins, I promised myself I wouldn’t drone on about weight loss on my blog. You can visit Sisterhood of the Shrinkng Jeans for that. The weight loss support, not the droning.

I do want to give a little update and say that this first week on Atkins was probably the easiest week on any diet I have ever been on, and I lost a whopping 6.6 pounds in 6 days.

I’ve had the standard bacon and eggs for breakfast, but I’ve also had crab cakes, meat balls, seafood salad, shrimp stir fry, and salmon. All with a generous serving of salad, peas, brussel sprouts, asparagus, and artichokes.

Vita Rain from Costco has also been a great help for getting that fruit flavor that I crave with no calories or carbs. And I just discovered that extra creamy vanilla Cool Whip has only 2 carbs for serving when I need a little treat!

I’ve been playing a lot of Wii tennis and bowling, and while you might laugh, I’ve broken a sweat more than once during a long tennis match and have the sore shoulder to prove it. Now…to track down a Wii Fit!

Mike has a propensity for crazy t-shirts. Especially when we go on vacation. For a soft spoken guy, I think he likes the attention of his t-shirts being a bit smart mouthed.

Two years ago when we eloped in Vegas it was “Game Over” with a bride and a groom, which I wasn’t exactly thrilled with. At our wedding party it was a fake tuxedo, which got lots of laughs. Last year it was “I <3 my weiner” with a sketch of a dachshund, which may not have been Disney appropriate, but he wore it anyway, This year it was “Dachshunds for Obama”, which was met with mixed emotions.

Next year, who knows what he’ll be wearing, but he’ll have a hard time choosing his favorite from Crazy Dog t-shirts. They have so many funny t-shirts, that you can’t just order one, and with their $4 shipping sale, now is the time to stock up!

Those are just a few of my favorites (though I think Stay Golden just may be my most favorite) and I have a few picked out for Mike as Valentine’s presents, but I can’t show you those. If you know Mike and I and our sense of humor, I’m sure you can pick them out when you visit Crazy Dog t-shirts.

Bloggy Giveaways Quarterly Carnival Button

It’s time, again, for Bloggy Giveaway! That magical week of visiting new blogs, commenting till your fingers are raw, and, hopefully, having a prize delivered to your home in appreciation for all of your hard work.

My last Bloggy Giveaway was a real success. I sent one lucky winner $50 worth of Valentine’s goodies, and all I asked in return is that they come back to visit me. They didn’t. What can you do? Maybe my prize just wasn’t good enough.latnav-ipod-shuffle

For this Bloggy Giveaway, I’m giving one lucky winner a 1 gig iPod Shuffle! All you have to do is leave a comment with your name, email, and what color you would like and I will randomly select a winner on Sunday, April 28th (so have those comments in by midnight on the 27th)!

Only one entry per person, US only, please.

Just a note that I will be out of town this week, so if you don’t see your comment approved and posted right away, check back on Friday when I’ll have a chance to approve everyone. Thanks!

IMG 2121Think you’re too old for an Easter basket? Think again! My Valentine’s Day Surprise giveaway was such a hit that I decided to put together another surprise for Easter!

As you can see, I’ve just started to fill a cute spring tote with Easter goodies. After I add enough chocolate, trinkets, and surprises to make Peter Rabbit look stingy, the prize will be worth at least $30! I get carried away come the holidays, so there’s a good chance it will be worth more!

Here’s how you enter…

  1. Leave a comment and receive one entry
  2. Drop your EntreCard and receive three entries
  3. Blog about the Easter Giveaway with a links back to corrinrenee.com and this entry and what you would like to see included in the tote and receive five entries
  4. Do any or all or the above for a maximum of nine entries.

I also have a teeny tiny fuzzy little surprise for a second winner and will choose both winners on March 15th and your packages will arrive just in time for Easter Sunday! That means you need to make your comment, write your post, and drop your card by midnight on March 14th!
