My husband is a paramedic and works 24 hour shifts with 48 hours off. That means on any given day, there is a 33.3% chance that he is working.

So why is it, that every time we want to go somewhere or do something, he’s working? The latest letdown is not being able to see This American Life LIVE in Chicago this April. I was all set to buy tickets, pulled out my planner to count out the days, and there was the big bold X on the night of the show, meaning that it is a work day.

Disappointing.

While in the Bahamas a few years ago, my mom, dad, sister and I spent an afternoon swimming with the dolphins and had so much fun. It was amazing the personalities these dolphins had. Playing and splashing and squirting water at us.

At the time I didn’t know about dolphin bubbles, yet playful dolphin activity. The dolphins at SeaWorld Orlando have the unique talent of blowing underwater bubbles and rings for their own amusement. It all started with one dolphin, and now they all push the bubbles around with their noses, pop them into tiny bubbles and nip at them just for fun.

They look like they are having so much fun and what a great thing to experience! I’m hoping to visit SeaWorld this summer, and I can’t wait to see their dolphin’s unique talent!

You can learn all about dolphins on SeaWorld’s new blog dedicated to their playful friends, www.dolphinbubbles.com. There are lots of entertaining photos and videos, as well as interesting dolphin information and a chance to comment on each and every post! You can even book your very own trip to swim with the dolphins at Discovery Cove!

I love Wii Fit. I do it every day (rhythm boxing and advanced step) and I do the body test once a week. Since starting, I’ve gone from a Wii Fit age of 42 (that was an eye opener) to a Wii Fit age of 26 (younger than my actual age)!

wii-fitWhile Mike also loves Wii Fit, he’s not quite as dedicated as I am and the little balance board has taken to asking me about Mike during my sessions. At first it just asked if I’ve seen Mike lately, but today it asked me to talk to Mike about his fitness routine and to bring it up nicely, by telling him he’s been “living large” and it’s time to Wii Fit.

These queries aren’t phasing Mike, but I’m scared of being belittled by the balance board (the boxing instructing telling me to come back tomorrow because I can do better is enough for me). I’d eventually like for the balance board not to say “ow” when I step on it.

So, has Wii Fit said anything funny to you? Has it shamed you into exercising? Harassed your significant other?

This little clip made my morning. Not only did she say “penis” instead of “peanuts” once, she did it twice! Third time’s a charm though, because she got it right as she wrapped up her story.

I have a long history of being scared shitless of roller coasters. I don’t know if it’s the height or the speed, but I try to avoid them. I think it started with a trip to Kings Island where I could see the highway from the top of the coaster and culminated with a trip to Disney where my dad almost killed us with a dropped video camera on Aerosmith’s Rockin’ Roller Coaster.

No matter the reason, I think it’s time to face my fears on the NEW Manta roller coaster at Seaworld and what a lucky coincidence that there is a chance to win a trip to four to Seaworld at http://www.ted.me/manta! Take a look behind the scenes at the new Manta ride and tell me what you think. I’ll be watching through my fingers I’m such a wuss.

The trip includes airfare, hotel, and two full days at Seaworld to take advantage of priority access to the new Manta ride. Just visit http://www.ted.me/manta for all the info to enter!
