I watch the ABC World News with Charlie Gibson every evening while I am eating dinner or getting in some Wii Fit stepping. I absolutely love Charlie and the way he engages everyone in the news and I especially enjoy that he tells me that he hopes I had a great day at the end of every broadcast. It’s his signature sign-off.

The other evening, I was super excited to hear Charlie introduce a segment about something I’m going to get to see firsthand this fall…Dolphin Bubbles at SeaWorld! Just watch, and you’ll quickly see why I was so captivated by the video…

Everybody knows that dolphins are super intelligent, but the story goes that one dolphin started blowing bubbles and taught all the other dolphins how to do the same! Now they all blow perfect circles, push them around with their noses, and swim through them to entertain themselves and the SeaWorld guests! It’s easy to see why the dolphins are a huge attraction at the park.

All of their personalities really start to shine when you see all the dolphins playing and interacting with each other, and I can’t wait to see dolphin bubbles for myself when I visit in October!

While in the Bahamas a few years ago, my mom, dad, sister and I spent an afternoon swimming with the dolphins and had so much fun. It was amazing the personalities these dolphins had. Playing and splashing and squirting water at us.

At the time I didn’t know about dolphin bubbles, yet playful dolphin activity. The dolphins at SeaWorld Orlando have the unique talent of blowing underwater bubbles and rings for their own amusement. It all started with one dolphin, and now they all push the bubbles around with their noses, pop them into tiny bubbles and nip at them just for fun.

They look like they are having so much fun and what a great thing to experience! I’m hoping to visit SeaWorld this summer, and I can’t wait to see their dolphin’s unique talent!

You can learn all about dolphins on SeaWorld’s new blog dedicated to their playful friends, www.dolphinbubbles.com. There are lots of entertaining photos and videos, as well as interesting dolphin information and a chance to comment on each and every post! You can even book your very own trip to swim with the dolphins at Discovery Cove!

I drove 13 hours round-trip, was the only person without kids, skipped the pajama party out of principle, and had cold showers both mornings, but you know what…I had a great time at Blissdom.

I attended all of the Maven panels and everyone was interesting and engaging, and it was nice to be around so many other bloggers for the very first time. I picked up a few tips and came home with some new ideas, but most of the information reinforced what I already knew or assumed, and a little validation feels good.

And as  a perk, I just finished reading Such a Pretty Fat by Jen Lancaster, and she just so happened to be the keynote speaker! I could have lived without Yanni Voices, but I’m definitely digging Chris Mann.

Here’s just a few of the people I met in the lats 48 hours…

If you were there, too, let me know! If I gave you my card, leave a comment! And don’t forget to follow me on Twitter!

Oh, and a big shout out to the woman in room #308. Were you sick or was it a case of too many Blisstinis? Because hearing you vomit at 2 am was about as much fun for me as it was for you. Hope you feel better!

Learning lots at #blissdom09 on TwitPic

I did take one picture. Just to prove I really was there and wasn’t living vicariously through Twitter.

The story of the mom that was expecting sextuplets but delivered octuplets is getting more and more bizarre.

It’s now being reported that the mother has six other children, four boys and two girls, including a set of twins. A family acquaintance appeared on the CBS Early Show and stated that the mother is young and living with her parents. There doesn’t seem to be a husband or boyfriend in the picture.

There are so many things that I personally think are wrong with this story, beginning with why, when she already has six children which she obviously can’t support since she’s living with her parents, would she choose to undergo fertility treatment? And why does our medical system allow such unnecessary procedures? And why is this birth considered a medical miracle when it’s really a medical disaster waiting to happen?

The whole situation just disturbs me.

UPDATE: This mother is a hot mess. A neighbor is saying that all 14 babies are from a sperm donor!

It’s Christmas day. Are you still short a Christmas gift? Perhaps one for an expectant couple or a daughter, sister or neice? The gift of life through a stem cell collection kit from C’Elle could be the most important gift you ever give!

I know a stem cell debate probably isn’t on your Christmas list, but just consider how valuable stem cells, collected from menstrual blood, can be to a women, couple, family, and baby. The female body produces thousands of self-renewing stem cells every month during menstruation, and C’Elle’s patented technology allows those stem cells to be collected with an easy-to-use kit and cryo-preserved for potential cellular therapies.

The harvesting of the stem cells is affordable, painless and non-invasive, and because the stem cells in menstrual blood mimic both adult and embryonic stem cells, they can quickly multiple and have the potential to differentiate into heart, nerve, bone, cartilage, fat, and other cells. The cells may not be used this year, or even ten years from now, but as medical research continues to discover how stem cells can be used, the cells become more and more valuable as a treatment option.

The gift of C’Elle is a highly personal one, and one that may bring many years of happiness to your family!
