I don’t know all the pros and cons of breastfeeding. Everyone in my family has been bottle fed and we’re all happy and healthy. If we ever have kids, bottle feeding would be my preferred method, because frankly, someone sucking on my boob kind of grosses me out, but even I don’t see how anything negative can be said about Salma Hayek breastfeeding a stranger’s baby.
In Sierra Leone, breastfeeding is stigmatized because men are not to have sex with breastfeeding women, so babies are weaned as early as possible, making malnutrition the leading cause of death in a country with the highest infant mortality rate in the world. Babies are breastfed for mere months when medical professionals are recommending two years to combat malnutrition.
The baby was hungry. Salma had milk. She fed the baby. It wouldn’t have been a big deal if she would have pulled a bottle out of her bag, so why is it a big deal that she breastfed a malnourished baby?
It took 9 years in the swimming pool industry for me to earn the title of Pool Princess, and I still like to brag about it from time to time. Take a look at my post from earlier this month for my cameo in a swimming pool commercial! I think it shows how much I love everything about swimming pools and can’t wait to put one in my own backyard someday soon.
What I can wait for, is the inevitable swimming pool leak. Leaks can be in the liner or the underground pipes or the filter system. I know a few tricks for finding them myself, such as marking the water level and watching for bubbles in the return, but most the time you need a professional to locate and fix a leak. It’s just the matter of finding a good professional.
I’m all set if we move to Florida though, because a kissimmee pool leak can be taken care of long before the pool is empty with Hydrotech Pools!
I always need something to look forward to. That “something” being a vacation. I pretty much require one every six months.
Things were looking a little bleak after Thanksgiving in New York, but we officially have a vacation on the schedule as of yesterday…Memorial Day in Las Vegas! Not only Memorial Day, but our 2nd wedding anniversary!
Thanks to a combination Christmas/birthday present, my parents are footing the bill for airfare, and my mom got comped nights at the Flamingo. The whole family will be in and out of Vegas that week, making this the 2nd official Vegas family vacation.
