We’ve started a new holiday tradition this year. No family gatherings on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

*Gasp* But Christmas is supposed to be about family!

Well, Mike and I decided that we see the family we are close with on a regular basis, so why waste two perfectly good days seeing family we never have the want to see the rest of the year? Instead, we’re going to relax, go to the movies, and probably order pizza for dinner.

We’re already considered Aunt and Uncle Scrooge for canceling Christmas, so I doubt we’ll be missed since we wouldn’t be arriving with arms full of gifts, but I want to assure you that we’re still very much in the Christmas spirit. Eggnog is flowing, holiday music is playing, and we sent out many holiday wishes to friends and family; we’re just going a less traditional route on the actual holiday.

Do you celebrate Christmas in a non-traditional way? Have you gotten any slack for how you celebrate the holidays?

I’m the financially responsible one in our relationship. I take care of all the bills, plan for the future, make sure we don’t ever have to file Bankruptcy, and deposit money into savings every payday, so it was interesting to to take the BillsIQ test.

There are questions on credit, debt, your budget, wealth, and the future, all of which come together to form your financial IQ. I have to say that I’m a little surprised that I only scored an 89% because I feel like I have a really good handle on our finances, but a lot of the questions pertained to homeowners with children.

The best part is that you aren’t just shown your BillIQ and sent on your merry way, they answers to your financial questions, tips on how to increase your financial IQ (and your savings account), and resources to reduce debt. You can also compare your IQ to others, to see just how well you’re doing and how far your knowledge is taking you. I may not have gotten an A, but I did score higher than most females my age!

Take the test to see just how financially fit you are. I think it will be a real eye-opener for most.

Mike and I aren’t quite sure where we want to move. We’re torn between staying put and moving far away and starting fresh. I think I’ve found a solution that will solve all of our problems. Motorhomes.

Think about it. We can pick up and move whenever we want to. We can get rid of our cars. We can enjoy all the same things that we can in a home, including a full kitchen, luxury bathroom, and loads of closet space.

With all the motorhomes available at RVs.com, we can pick out our first “home” for way less than a piece of real estate!

A lot of us don’t think much about the architecture around us, and many times, that’s a sign of good architecture. It blends in with its surroundings and is unimposing, which leads us to take it’s beauty and functionality for granted.

accurate logoAccurate Perforating is a perforated metal company that doesn’t take design and functionality for granted. In fact, they make it a priority to integrate the two seamlessly, and are very successful; perforating more than 40 million pounds of recycled metal every year and adding style to everything from buildings to baking racks.

Their slogan is “it’s not just metal with holes”, and that’s an about us imgunderstatement. Their perforated metal is pretty metal with holes that serve a purpose, available in numerous ornamental and symmetrical patterns which can be used for acoustics, security, sun shading, and decoration, just to name a few applications. Take a look around, and you’ll start to notice just how many applications perforated metal has in your daily life! I bet you can find some out by your grill, in your utility closet, and in your kitchen cabinets!

I don’t know anything about boxing, but I have to admit that it seems very hip and glamorous to be a spectator at one of the big boxing matches in Las Vegas. Celebrities flock to the event to be seen on the red carpet and the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Oscar De La Hoya tickets will sell out fast because the rematch is slated to be the hottest ticket this year.

delahoya-mayweather

Mayweather and De La Hoya first went head to head last spring at the MGM Grand and shattered all box office records by grossing $165 million when Mayweather took De La Hoya’s junior middleweight belt. It was a close fight; the crowd behind De La Hoya and the judges behind Mayweather. Now the CEO of Golden Boy Promotions is teasing the public with a possible rematch to take place September 13th or 20th in either Las Vegas or Los Angeles, which will also be available through HBO pay-per-view.

Celebrities at the May 5th fight included Jack Nicholson, Jim Carey and Jenny McCarthy, Eva Longoria, John Cusack, Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez, Michael Jordan, and presidential candidate John McCain.

Whether for junior middleweight or welterweight, at 147-pounds or 154-pounds, this rematch will be the place to see and be seen and is sure to break the previous box office records in revenue and viewers, so get our tickets as soon as they are available at Team One Tickets.
