1966173331 71141d5f0aEverybody lick their chops and get their napkins ready, because it’s time for Four Foods on Friday!

Here are this week’s questions…

1. American cheese. Sliced fresh or prepackaged processed cheese product?

We eat American cheese on sandwhiches from Subway or Jimmy John’s but always buy Sargento extra charp cheddar from the deli aisle for home. We love cheese.

2. What is your favorite cracker?

We just bought a giant double box of Triscuits from Costco last weekend and I doubt it will last until next weekend, which means the Sargento sharp cheddar will be gone, too, because they are a match made in heaven.

3. What hot breakfast cereal do you like?

There’s always a box of Quaker maple and brown sugar instant oatmeal in the pantry, but I never eat it, even though I love it. I feel like it needs to be there for when I get the craving.

4. Share a recipe that uses corn.

Not a recipe by a long shot, but I am loving the sweet corn from Costco lately. I boil until tender, cut off the cob, and add some salt and pepper. Delish.

Have you noticed that Jeremy Piven is the new face of Johnston and Murphy? You can’t flip through a men’s magazine without seeing the ads. They are nice ads. Not very memorable, but nice.

The ear tugging is perplexing to me, though. Jeremy’s no Carol Burnett, that’s for sure.

I saw Johnny Depp today! He’s in Crown Point shooting Public Enemies in which he plays John Dillinger, the legendary bank robber. They are shooting in my town because it is the place of John Dillinger’s infamous jail escape.

Anyway, people have been lined up for days to catch a glimpse of Johnny and local restaurants are offering him and his crew free dinner if they visit their restaurants, and all I had to do is drive around the square on my way home from the bank, and there he was, crossing the street with a camera crew and all their toys in tow.

Exciting stuff.

Not my picture. I only saw Johnny as I zoomed around the square.

det BakersEdgeBrowniePan lgI always steal the corner pieces of brownies and sheet cakes so I’ve wanted a Baker’s Edge Pan for a very long time because it turns every piece into an edge, although I’d probably still put up a fight for the end because it has three edges. No matter how much I wanted one, I never make brownies, so it seemed pretty pointless.

Then I found out that the inventor of the Baker’s Edge Pan is a Ball State University grad, just like me! Now I feel like I need to dig out a brownie recipe and support another BSU alumni.

So, not only did BSU give the world David Letterman and Papa John’s Pizza, it also gave us the Baker’s Edge Pan!
