While in the Bahamas a few years ago, my mom, dad, sister and I spent an afternoon swimming with the dolphins and had so much fun. It was amazing the personalities these dolphins had. Playing and splashing and squirting water at us.
At the time I didn’t know about dolphin bubbles, yet playful dolphin activity. The dolphins at SeaWorld Orlando have the unique talent of blowing underwater bubbles and rings for their own amusement. It all started with one dolphin, and now they all push the bubbles around with their noses, pop them into tiny bubbles and nip at them just for fun.
They look like they are having so much fun and what a great thing to experience! I’m hoping to visit SeaWorld this summer, and I can’t wait to see their dolphin’s unique talent!
You can learn all about dolphins on SeaWorld’s new blog dedicated to their playful friends, www.dolphinbubbles.com. There are lots of entertaining photos and videos, as well as interesting dolphin information and a chance to comment on each and every post! You can even book your very own trip to swim with the dolphins at Discovery Cove!
Just imagine how thrilled I was when Mike asked if I wanted to go to the Chicago Auto Show for Valentine’s Day. Yeah, not very.
I get where the idea came from, and in theory it’s good. I have a 2010 Prius on order and it’s been unveiled and will be on display at the show, but besides spending 10 minutes looking at my soon-to-be new car, spending a holiday all about love and romance at an auto show isn’t very lovey-dovey.
I nicely said that I didn’t want to go, so crisis adverted, but what’s your worst Valentine’s Day story? Eat at a greasy spoon? Get a bouquet that had more baby’s breath than roses? A box of nasty cherry cordial candies?
Worst Valentine’s Day story, judged by Mike and I, gets a copy of the soundtrack to he’s just not that into you! It can be your story, your friend’s story, or a story that’s not really all that bad in the grand scheme of things.
Contest ends Saturday at midnight, just in case this is the worst Valentine’s Day ever.
Please enter a valid first name and email address when entering. Not responsible for invalid entry information. Must comment with your worst Valentine’s Day story to be eligable. US and Canada.
PS – Sorry for making a contest out of your big Valentine’s Day plans, Mike. Hearts.
I drove 13 hours round-trip, was the only person without kids, skipped the pajama party out of principle, and had cold showers both mornings, but you know what…I had a great time at Blissdom.
I attended all of the Maven panels and everyone was interesting and engaging, and it was nice to be around so many other bloggers for the very first time. I picked up a few tips and came home with some new ideas, but most of the information reinforced what I already knew or assumed, and a little validation feels good.
And as a perk, I just finished reading Such a Pretty Fat by Jen Lancaster, and she just so happened to be the keynote speaker! I could have lived without Yanni Voices, but I’m definitely digging Chris Mann.
Here’s just a few of the people I met in the lats 48 hours…
If you were there, too, let me know! If I gave you my card, leave a comment! And don’t forget to follow me on Twitter!
Oh, and a big shout out to the woman in room #308. Were you sick or was it a case of too many Blisstinis? Because hearing you vomit at 2 am was about as much fun for me as it was for you. Hope you feel better!
I did take one picture. Just to prove I really was there and wasn’t living vicariously through Twitter.
Since I’m on Atkins, the sensible thing to do is torture myself with thoughts of carbohydrates and sugar and give away a 1 gallon tub of Garrett Popcorn in a signature Garrett tin! If you’re from Chicago or have ever visited Chicago, you know that Garrett Popcorn is an institution and a staple on Oprah’s list of Favorite Things. You’ve never tasted anything as good as Garrett Popcorn. I guarantee it.
To enter, just leave a comment letting me know if you’d prefer caramel, cheese, or Chicago-style (a mix of cheese and caramel)!
Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter, and feel free to poke around my blog and comment!

You must answer the question above in your comment to be eligable to win! US entries only.
I am loving Atkins. 7 pounds in 7 days and I haven’t once been hungry. The only thing I don’t love is that I can’t go. To the bathroom. Number two. I know that’s too much information, but lets get real. We all go to the bathroom and a lot of us are focused on a healthy new year, and the two go hand in hand.
