You’re answering this week’s Four Foods on Friday questions on your blog, right? Good. If you don’t have a blog, don’t feel left out. You can answer them right here in my comments section!

1. Are your kitchen utensils nylon, silicone, wood or other?

Everything we have is a mish-mosh. We’re at that stage where we are still renting an apartment, so we still tend to live like college students. I have big plans for proper dishes and utensils once we buy a house.

2. Do you prefer dishes washed in a dishwasher or by hand?

Doesn’t much matter as long as I don’t have to do them.

3. How many sets of dishes do you have?

I am positive we don’t have a complete set of dishes. There’s a set of plates and bowls that match, but there’s also favorite one-off dishes and bowls, as well as different platters that were used in photoshoots at work.

4. Share a recipe that calls for only one pot or pan.

This recipe is actually from Atkins, and is one of my favorites. You will also need a bowl, but you only need one skillet!

Cheese n Chili Chops

  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • salt and pepper
  • 4 boneless center-cut pork chops (about 1 pound)
  • 1/4 cup tomato salsa
  • 1/2 can (4.5 ounces) diced green chilies, drained
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/3 cup grated Cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese

Directions:

Heat oil in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Season chops with salt and pepper. Brown chops about 2 minutes per side. Combine salsa, chilies and cumin in a bowl. Pour mixture over chops. Reduce heat to low, cover skillet and simmer chops 5 minutes or until cooked through. Mix cheeses in a bowl. Divide cheese mixture over chops, cover and cook 1 minute, just until cheese melts.

I tend to get crafty every so often. Beading, cross-stitching, and painting. Beading is probably my favorite since it appeals to my love of costume jewelry, but beading supplies are notoriously expensive.3279

Foxy Findings buys beading supplies at liquidation prices, and passes those savings on to crafters which a huge selection and super cheap prices. There’s no quantity minimums to buy, they offer beads and beading supplies, including handmade centerpieces and hand sorted design packs from Designer Kay with everything you need to create a beautiful piece of jewelry.

I absolutely love pearls, and they have over 15 pages of different colors, shapes, and sizes of pearls, so I’m in heaven!

Every year, hundreds of words are dropped from the dictionary in order to make room for newer, trendier words. What happens to the words that don’t make the cut? They get adopted at www.savethewords.org!

My word is starrify, a verb meaning to decorate with stars. A word that should have never been booted from the dictionary, in my opinion. But I tend to starrify most everything, so I might be bias.

Anyone can adopt a word, but once you do, you become responsible for using the word as much as possible to integrate it back into popular usage and hopefully, back into the dictionary!

What word did you adopt?

It took 9 years in the swimming pool industry for me to earn the title of Pool Princess, and I still like to brag about it from time to time. Take a look at my post from earlier this month for my cameo in a swimming pool commercial! I think it shows how much I love everything about swimming pools and can’t wait to put one in my own backyard someday soon.

What I can wait for, is the inevitable swimming pool leak. Leaks can be in the liner or the underground pipes or the filter system. I know a few tricks for finding them myself, such as marking the water level and watching for bubbles in the return, but most the time you need a professional to locate and fix a leak. It’s just the matter of finding a good professional.

I’m all set if we move to Florida though, because a kissimmee pool leak can be taken care of long before the pool is empty with Hydrotech Pools!

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve turned into the biggest bawl baby ever. Especially when it comes to animals. Even though everything turns out okay in this video, it didn’t stop me from getting a sniffle or two in.
