We are one of those couples. We dress our dog up, buy him treats from the dog bakery, and take him on vacation with us. Well, we want to take him on vacation with us. Usually, we have to book him a night in the local doggie hotel because we have difficulty finding pet friendly hotels that will welcome our little wiener dog with open arms. The dog hotel isn’t anything to scoff at, but it’s just not the same as being together.
Thanks to OfficialPetHotels.com, Ollie can now be nestled between us when we lay down to relax on our next trip. Their database contains over 10,000 pet friendly hotels all over the country, which makes for easy traveling. A did a quick search for our hometown of Chicago, and found out that the Palmer House Hilton even accepts pets overnight!
Not only will you be able to find a hotel where you whole family can stay, and yes, pets are family, there’s even a list of tips for traveling with your pets. Some of which I would have never thought of!
- Locate emergency veterinary clinics in the area
- Feed your pet ice cubes to keep them hydrated
- Make sure your pet has tags with your destination information

Everybody pray for Mister Floyd!
My dad is taking him to the vet as we speak for a possible broken leg. Poor little guy didn’t make it up onto the bed when he jumped!
My mom said he’s all wrapped up in his bed like it’s a little stretcher and had to be carried out to the car.
So sad!
EDIT: Good news. Mister Floyd has a bruised shoulder, but no broken bones. We visited this evening, and took him a special doggie treat, and he seems to be recuperating nicely.

I can’t wait until Friday when Oliver comes home from the doggie hotel and I can love him and pamper him with a good bath using Bio Groom dog products, made from the highest quality ingredients, and one of the fancy new Metro dog dryers so he doesn’t have to run around with soaking wet ears. Then we are going to take an extra long walk with his new harness and lead that lets him roam out further and doesn’t choke him like his old one. He’s is a pure bred dachshund, so he deserves show dog quality products from the Show Dog Store, which has free shipping on orders over $125, which isn’t hard to do when I’m spoiling my puppy.
I found a dog! See…that’s him to the left, bouncing around the back seat of my car.
On my way back from dropping Ollie off at the doggie hotel (he’s totally loving it there, one the girls called him a little lover and said she was going to spoil him) I was stopped at a stop sign, a ball of gray fur peed on the stop sign, ran in front of my car, and peed on the other stop sign.
I pulled over and got out of the car and he ran right up to me and licked my hand, so I put Ollie’s leash on him, checked his tag and saw that he lived a few blocks away. I opened the car door and he hopped right in and sat in the back seat.
When I got to the house, two high school boys answered the door and were so non-chalant about someone bringing their dog back. Their mom was in the background and all she said was that she thought he was playing in the back yard and she was sorry he ran out in front of me.
Poor little guy. He was so cute and sweet. I hope they take good care of him.

You are fooling yourself if you don’t think I would buy Ollie a bottle of doggie beer.
A petshop owner in Amsterdam used beef extract and malt to created Kwispel (a Dutch word for wagging a tail)….”a beer for your best friend.”
