I suppose that is the kind of statement you’d expect to hear from someone who is celibate…
Before touching down for his first visit to Africa, Pope Benedict XVI took the opportunity to pontificate on the AIDS pandemic, saying that condoms are not the answer to the fight against AIDS.
I think we can all agree that condoms aren’t the solution to the AIDS pandemic, but they certainly are an effective preventative measure. Especially in a country with limited medical care and widespread occurrences of rape.
While the Pope views condom distribution as giving those with AIDS the green-light to have sex, I believe the intention is to protect those that do not have the disease from contracting the disease. Will some view the condoms as the green-light? Absolutely. But why are we comprising the protection of many based on the rash actions of a few?
Several of the comments on the article are very well stated, especially those that expand on AIDS and STDs being a public health issue and not necessarily a moral one.
I miss PJP.
I’m not a fan of sci-fi or fantasy books or movies and I don’t particularly care for vampires or mystical creatures, but I get the hype behind Twilight. What I don’t get is the hype behind Robert Pattinson. He always looks dirty, his nose is crazy crooked, and I’m assuming his performance in Twilight wasn’t Oscar-worthy.
IMDB says his trademark is messy hair, which doesn’t really bode well for his acting abilities.
Fanatic Robert Pattinson fans, I know you’re out there…please weigh in.
Can you believe that I’ve never seen my husband all dressed-up in a suit and tie? Not even on the day we got married, which was super casual becuase we eloped in Las Vegas.
I think it would be really nice to see him all dressed to the nines. Especially since I’ve found the Best ties at BJ Brand New Ties that match some of my new summer dresses! Made from 100% silk in some of the prettiest and most vibrant colors you’ll find, their selection begs for a night out on the town.
As much as he tries to act all rugged, Mike loves nice things and enjoys getting cleaned up and going out to a nice dinner, and if a new tie can accomplish all that, I say it’s worth the puchase!
I kind of regret never going to any formals in high school. Between school and sports, my group of friends wasn’t into getting dressed up and spending the evening listening to a DJ in our school gym. Shopping for prom dresses just wasn’t a priority for me then, but now I love to look at formal wear even though I have nowhere to go.
Elegant Mart has fabulous dresses for proms, parties, and balls, all priced below retail. Many of the dresses look very couture, and you can be sure there won’t be anyone else wearing the same dress. I know I would have gone for something completely out of the box, like the dress pictured.
Maybe I’ll throw a prom party so all of us adults can get dressed up and relive our senior year!
We bought a sheet of Costco cupcakes to celebrate the March birthdays in our family (including my own!), and they are taunting me in the fridge…absolutely huge, with the best whipped buttercream frosting ever, and just sweet enough to require a cold glass of milk.
Surprisingly, there’s only 257 calories in a Costco cupcake (if my source is correct), but I’m not considering that a green light to have one for dinner. Maybe a late night snack, but definitely not dinner.
