It gets more expensive to fly every day. No more $79 round-trip flights to Vegas! I understand that overhead costs are tremendous, but I suspect there’s some gouging going on, particularly from Ryanair, who’s CEO suggested charging customers to use the toilet in-flight.
Charge me for my heavy luggage because I’m an inefficient packer. Charge me for a paper ticket because I’m not savvy enough to use the internet, but do not charge me to take a whiz after I’ve bought a $5.50 Bloody Mary that I had to mix myself from the flight attendant.
Is there no such thing as customer service any more?
I’m addicted to Twitter, but I’m very particular about who I follow. Twitter can clutter very quickly, so I want to follow people with quality Tweets and interesting links; that’s why I follow ted on twitter.
Ted is the Founder and CEO of Izea, and we all know I give Izea a big thumbs up, so I have to follow the man behind the curtain. He asks interesting questions, makes random witty remarks, and leads you to other influential bloggers and important people to follow.
Ted makes my Twitter list, and he should make yours, too.
If you entered one of the many Sears gift card giveaways and want to find out if you’re one of the lucky $500 or $100 winners, make sure to tune into TedTube tonight at 4pm EST! Ted Murphy, Founder/CEO of IZEA, will surely make an event of announcing all the winners!
You can even come right back here to watch the big winners be revealed!
I don’t know anything about boxing, but I have to admit that it seems very hip and glamorous to be a spectator at one of the big boxing matches in Las Vegas. Celebrities flock to the event to be seen on the red carpet and the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Oscar De La Hoya tickets will sell out fast because the rematch is slated to be the hottest ticket this year.
Mayweather and De La Hoya first went head to head last spring at the MGM Grand and shattered all box office records by grossing $165 million when Mayweather took De La Hoya’s junior middleweight belt. It was a close fight; the crowd behind De La Hoya and the judges behind Mayweather. Now the CEO of Golden Boy Promotions is teasing the public with a possible rematch to take place September 13th or 20th in either Las Vegas or Los Angeles, which will also be available through HBO pay-per-view.
Celebrities at the May 5th fight included Jack Nicholson, Jim Carey and Jenny McCarthy, Eva Longoria, John Cusack, Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez, Michael Jordan, and presidential candidate John McCain.
Whether for junior middleweight or welterweight, at 147-pounds or 154-pounds, this rematch will be the place to see and be seen and is sure to break the previous box office records in revenue and viewers, so get our tickets as soon as they are available at Team One Tickets.
The CEO of Victoria’s Secret, Sharen Turney, said yesterday during a conference call with investors that the VS brand has gotten too sexy and has strayed too far from its roots.
While they aren’t selling liquid latex (although, that may be a strategy they should consider), Victoria’s Secret isn’t as classy or sophisticated as it used to be. I’ve been shopping there for over ten years, and I’ve seen a decrease in quality under garments, and an increase in trashy lingerie and clothing. I no longer buy bras or pajamas from Victoria’s Secret, but I do purchase my underwear there, making a bee-line for the cotton undies and avoiding the Pink products like the plague.
The Pink line uses bubble gum colors and stuffed animals to target middle-school age girls, whether that was the brand’s intent or not. I’m not sure where these young girls are getting the money to buy clothing from the Pink line, or when shopping at a lingerie store become appropriate for a 13 year old, but it’s inappropriate. I wore Hanes underwear from Wal-mart until I was in college!
Sharen Turney said that changes are going to be made to bring the brand back to it’s former glory. The new target audience will be “an aspirational buyer who is 26″, bra launches will be fewer, and a “good, better, best” pricing strategy will be followed. Hopefully that strategy will also involve increasing quality while rethinking the $7.50 price tag on a single pair of cotton underwear.
So, do you shop at VS? Is it trashy or classy? Do you, or would you, let your young daughter shop at VS? If you don’t shop at VS, where do you buy your under-things?
