ZoomImageFramerI kind of regret never going to any formals in high school. Between school and sports, my group of friends wasn’t into getting dressed up and spending the evening listening to a DJ in our school gym. Shopping for prom dresses just wasn’t a priority for me then, but now I love to look at formal wear even though I have nowhere to go.

Elegant Mart has fabulous dresses for proms, parties, and balls, all priced below retail. Many of the dresses look very couture, and you can be sure there won’t be anyone else wearing the same dress. I know I would have gone for something completely out of the box, like the dress pictured.

Maybe I’ll throw a prom party so all of us adults can get dressed up and relive our senior year!

Does anyone remember Teeny Little Super Guy from Sesame Street? I have absolutely no idea what made me think of him today, but I totally need a set of glasses with all the characters. It’s amazing how one little clip can take you back to your childhood (and only someone that is officially creeping up on their 30′s can say that – urgh).

I heard they were playing clips on Nick. Can anyone with kidlets confirm or deny?

Every year, hundreds of words are dropped from the dictionary in order to make room for newer, trendier words. What happens to the words that don’t make the cut? They get adopted at www.savethewords.org!

My word is starrify, a verb meaning to decorate with stars. A word that should have never been booted from the dictionary, in my opinion. But I tend to starrify most everything, so I might be bias.

Anyone can adopt a word, but once you do, you become responsible for using the word as much as possible to integrate it back into popular usage and hopefully, back into the dictionary!

What word did you adopt?

After my appointment with the doctor from hell, I was determined to find out what was causing my weight gain, fatigue, and hair loss. My hypothyroidism is boarder line and is being adequately managed with Synthroid, but the symptoms haven’t subsided, so I knew there was another cause.

My husband gently suggested (for the past year) that I might be depressed, so I finally made an appointment with a psychiatrist. And guess what? I’m textbook anxiety and mild depression, which causes all the symptoms I’m experiencing, so I was given a very small daily dose of Lexapro along with a prescription for Xanax.

At first I was skeptical and I wasn’t going to blog about my new diagnosis, but you know what? Serotonin is just another hormone that needs to be regulated so that I can feel better. Why not blog about it?

So, do any of you have experience taking Lexapro? Anyone else out there with their hand in the crazy, like me? :-P

One of the advantages of being snowed in and working from home is being able to have daytime television playing in the background. The mention of Tiffany Brisette on The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet caught my attention this morning.

Tiffany played Vicki (VICI – Voice Input Child Indenticant) on Fox’s very first sitcom, Small Wonder, about a married engineer who creates the very first robot and tries to pass her off as their daughter. Vicki had super human strength, was a mathematical wizard, and runs on atomic power, but looks like a real little girl.

I couldn’t make this stuff up if I tried. If you’re not familiar with the show, here’s some clips…

Besides the fact that my sister teased me endlessly about looking like Vicki’s TV brother, Jamie, Small Wonder was one of my favorite television shows. Is anyone familiar with the show? Did you watch it as a kid? Did your kids watch it? Are you now stuck on YouTube watching old episodes like I am?
