I know I was taught that if I can’t say something nice say to not say anything at all, but seriously, read my blog. How often do I follow that advice? That’s exactly why I’m going to go ahead and say that Priscilla and Lisa Marie Presley look like they’ve been beaten with a pool cue. Numerous times.

Word is that they were on their way to The Lunchbox Auction Benefiting Food Bank For NYC & The Lunchbox Fund at Saatchi & Saatchi in New York yesterday when this picture was snapped. While I commend their charitable efforts, I’m not sure looking like that helped raise any money.

In fact, of all the photos from the event, dare I say that Joyce Dewitt of 15218718Three’s Company fame looked the best! All 100+ celebrities decorated lunchboxes to be auctioned with the profits benefiting the Food Bank for New York City and the Lunchbox Fund of South Africa, and I’ve almost convinced myself that Reese Witherspoon’s “Chow Down” lunchbox is worth $100, so the charity has been well served by the function.

On the whole, I don’t think Priscilla and Lisa Marie are unattractive women (though Priscilla seriously needs to give up on the Botox and Lisa Marie needs to be careful not to channel Wynonna Judd). Priscilla was quite a looker back in her bee hive days, and Lisa Marie cleans up nice, not to mention they have all the money in the world for great clothes and stylists, which is why I don’t understand their latest style debacle.

Although I’m not having a very pleasant time on my current trip to Atlanta, I’m always up for an adventure, so I am fiddling with a new trip planner that incorporates real travel advice from real travelers.

Real Travel incorporates reviews, recommendations, and comparison pricing on trips around the world. If you read someone’s shining review of Abu Dabai and feel compelled to jump on the next flight there, Real Travel can help you do that.

I love the idea of taking a spur of the moment trip, so I am especially interested in the deals section of Real Travel offering the best promotions from around the web on airfare, hotels, and package deals.

home logo2There are a lot of bird’s in my family. My mom’s nickname is Bird, and my grandma was Birdie and we’re constantly buying bird themed baubles and t-shirts. One would think that we would have broken down and bought an actual bird from Fabulous Finch by now!

The Lady Gouldian Finch is one of the prettiest little birds in the world, SaveGouldianWebLogoand only 2,500 still exist in the wild, landing them on Australia’s endangered species list. Not only does Fabulous Finch specialize in breeding and selling Lady Gouldian Finches and raising awareness about the bird, they are the first U.S. contributor to the Australian “Save the Gouldian Fund”, dedicated to preserving the species in the wild. Fabulous Finch has pledged 5% of all sales from their online store to help save these beautiful birds.

The birds are very difficult to breed and a challenge to keep as pets, but Fabulous Finch strives to provide all the information owners need in an abbreviated format so that they can do their research before purchasing and can provide the best care possible for their bird.

Information is continually being added to the site, and Fabulous Finch is the only site to tell owners specially how to care for their bird. Right down to a feeding schedule and product recommendations, along with general advice. They also carry the products they use, love, and recommend in their extensive online store.

Every bird sold by Fabulous Finch is born and bred in their facility, with single pair cages, automated heating, lighting, and humidity, and the most sanitary conditions possible. There’s no overcrowding or birds bred by other facilities. All birds are sold after they have completed their juvenile molt, which means they are fully colored and ready to join your family.

Bird has a birthday coming up, maybe she’ll get her very own Lady Gouldian Finch!

I was one of the lucky ones that never had to battle with acne in highschool. I had the ocassional zinger right in the middle of my forehead, but the majority of the time my skin was clean and clear, and I did very little except wash my face with Noxema.

After I got to college I started to worry about acne more and more, becuase my mom had adult acne and Mike used some pretty harsh antibiotics to stop his skin problems. I went to a dermatologist to prepare in case I started breaking out, and he pretty much laughed at me, saying he can’t treat something I didn’t have. While I understood that, he really didn’t offer much in the way of preventative advice.

Since the dermatologist wasn’t going to prescribe me anything, I had to develop my own treatment plan, which included Proactiv Solution as a precautionary measure.

I also learned the golden rules of skin care…

  1. Don’t over-wash
  2. Don’t over-exfoliate
  3. Don’t use alcohol as a toner
  4. Don’t pick
  5. Don’t touch
  6. Wash your face after working out
  7. Stick with a routine

Knock on wood…my skin has remained clear and I’ve avoided acne so far! I guess chocolate and french fries really don’t cause acne!

Never go into a meeting with the CEO when you’re $300,000 over budget. Ouch.
