GeekGoddess cvr frontI wish I would have received How To Be A Geek Goddess before the holidays, because I would have totally regifted it to my mom. How To Be A Geek Goddess is full of “practical advice for using computers with smarts and style” by Christina Tynan-Wood.

Being a long-time blogger, I immediately flipped to the section on blogging (chapter 11, pages 280-283). While I think the section was a little slim, it gives the author an excuse to write How To Be A Blog Goddess someday and contains some great beginning blogger information, like how to start a blog and purchase a domain.

Simple explainations of everything from buying a computer to mastering email and IM to how to connect through social and professional networks is included in the book, plus super cute “Dear Geek Goddess” letters in every section. It’s a melding of technology, parenting, and education that anyone can grasp and you can get a taste of the style by downloading Chapter 5: Shopping!

If you have a drug or alcohol addiction, and you’ve finally come to the point where you can admit to yourself that you need help, looking on the internet for help can be a scary and misleading. Sites that claim to help are often sales tools trying to lure you to their facility. I’m not saying that they can’t offer great programs once you are at their facility, but they give you just enough information and then you have to pay, and if you are still in the information gathering phase of your rehabilitation, or you don’t have the means to pay for a week or month in a rehab center in California, it can be discouraging.

To find pure information on Alcohol Rehab, try visiting the alcohol rehab mobi. There’s no sales pitch, no fancy rehab center cum day spa, and no pretencious medical terms. It’s an alcohol rehab related blog, with easy to understand entries on treatment, detox, family life, and more, that can help get your priorities straight. Reading the blog is like talking to a friend that gives great advice. They know when to be serious and when to be lighthearted, and they know how to get through to you.

I’ve been wearing a bra since 3rd grade and I upgraded to an under wire in 6th grade. By high school, I was a 36D and wearing two bras to volleyball and softball practice so I didn’t hurt myself!

dville-demi-set-bigI come from a long line of busty woman, and we’re still searching for Vicky’s secret, because she sure isn’t sharing it. We’re sick and tired of spending good money on bras to have them fall apart after a few washings. We’re fed up with indentations in our shoulders from straps, and we’re through with tan and white as the only option for our fine lingerie.

Last summer, we finally found the answer to our prays. We took Oprah’s advice and got fitted at a lingerie store in downtown Chicago, and they recommended Prima Donna and Chantelle Bras for my 34F breasts. I bought three Prima Donna bras in pretty colors and with a little hand washing they have kept me perky and in place since day one.

I can’t say enough about how comfortable both brands of bras are. The straps are thick and comfortable, the cups are well constructed, and they are pretty. It’s hard to find pretty bras in large sizes so I feel like I must tell others that big pretty bras do exist!

Since going to Chicago for bras isn’t an option for everyone (and certainly wasn’t an option for me when I lived in Indianapolis), Bits of Lace is the perfect place to buy Chantelle and Prima Donna bras. You’ve got plenty of time to order something pretty for Valentine’s Day and you’ll get to wear it every day it’s so pretty and functional!

Things are not going as well as Mike and I had hoped after the big move. My job isn’t what I had expected it to be, Mike is never home because of work, school, and clinicals, and money is tight, no matter how well we budget. I know there are people in far worse situations than we are, but it would be nice to be Happy For No Reason and know that there is an end in sight.I read The Secret in hopes that the Theory of Positive Thinking would help turn our lives around, but the book as a whole didn’t appeal to me. Some of the teachers, like Marci Shimroff, had great advice and their outlook made sense. Other teachers were far too spiritual and hocus pocus for my liking.

Luckily, Marci has expanded on her teachings in The Secret and come out with The Sedona Method, a practice of letting go of all inner limitations to achieve success and happiness.  Mariel Hemingway is a big believer in The Sedona Method and used it to overcome her family history of depression and addiction. By letting go of negative thoughts and feelings Mariel realized that those thoughts and feelings weren’t fact, they were opinions she’d formed about herself and that she has the ability to change those opinions. Eventually, she was able to stop the internal struggle of her own self-worth and begin to feel confident and healthy.

Everyone is so quick to say that they don’t feel good, they are having a bad day, or things are not how they had planned them. By repeating those negative opinions over and over, they manifest themselves and things will never go the way you want them to and you will never feel happy. The Sedona Methods banishes those negative thoughts and opinions and helps uncover the happiness that is within everyone by a simple process of letting go.

  1. Focus on the issue you would like to feel better about.
  2. Ask yourself: Could I let this feeling go?
  3. Ask yourself: Would I let this feeling go?
  4. Ask yourself: When will I let this feeling go?
  5. Repeat until all negativity is gone.
