Shrinking Days of Summer: Flexxation
I’m almost two weeks into the Shrinking Days of Summer and I’m only down 1 lb. which means that I need to add more exercise to my routine, so I was more than happy to give a new fitness DVD a try when asked. I needed something new and exciting to get this chub moving!
Amy Cheryl is a fitness professional that teaches at the uber popular Equinox in LA and her Flexxation method is about focusing all of our energy, thoughts, and attention on our workout. The DVD I received included her Free It Up! class, which is a spicy cardio workout with a Latin flare, and YogaFlexx, which is a seriously focused workout that combines yoga and sculpting. There’s also bonus segments on abs, stretching, and relaxation – I focused on the relaxation since I was spent after the classes! Watch some clips and get a feel for Amy’s energy.
The classes are hardcore. You sweat. You pant. You can feel your muscles working hard. But what I liked most about Amy Cheryl is that she’s definitely in shape – there’s no question about that – but she isn’t a twig and she isn’t all scary muscles. You’re taking instruction from someone with an attainable shape and a healthy body image. That goes a long way in keeping a positive attitude and sticking with an exercise regimen!
I like Amy and I like her workouts and I’ve stuck with Flexxation all week, so can’t wait to see my results on weigh-in day!

Sounds like fun! I have NEVER used a workout DVD before. Not even when Carmen Electra had stripper workouts. ha!

I hope you get the results you are after. I think those resistance bands and mini weight balls are among the best things to have at home!

This looks great, but I have a confession – a drawer FULL of workout tapes LOL! I’m lucky if I get my buns up out of this chair – glued from dawn til well after dusk. I’d settle right now for a routine just taking a walk LOL!
