To celebrate the life and legacy of Irvine Robbins, Mike and I made a trip Baskin-Robbins for desert this evening.

In addition to running Baskin-Robbins, Irvine had a creative side, inventing such well known flavors as Mint Chocolate Chip and Jamoca Almond Fudge, but being part of an ice cream empire wasn’t enough for Irvine’s son, John, who wrote the book Diet for a New America, rejecting his family’s business.

Irvine was 90 years old and passed away from complications related to old age. We lift our pink spoon to you, Irvine!
