There’s a fairly good chance I’m on a plane headed to Chicago right this very second. That’s the plan anyway.

Surprised? Good! Because I had a hell of a time keeping that secret.

My sister has known for awhile that she’d be visiting family this week, but I put off buying a ticket because being unemployed makes it so hard to pick up and leave town for the weekend, right? When I  found a flight that landed an hour before hers, I thought it would be fun to surprise everyone.

Which means I’ve been biting my tongue for six weeks. Even after my parents offered to buy my ticket. I’m hoping they offer reimbursement.

So…SURPRISE! I expect tears of joy out of each and every family member.

Mom and Dad – please don’t leave the airport without me!

PS – Since I know how much my dad likes to track flights, I’m on Southwest 1620. No need to go to the airport early, I’ll be waiting with Ashley.

PPPS – Could you all do me a favor and Tweet @Berdean (my mom) about this latest development? I’m just a tiny bit nervous about being left at the airport. Or that my dad will bring the pickup truck and I’ll end up having to lay flat in the bed of the truck for the ride home on 80/94.
