Angie - Thanks for commenting. My doctor has been switching my medication every month and I agree that I need to give the medication more of a chance to settle in. I'm now on Zoloft and I think I'm going to give it two months before the follow-up appointment.

Connie - My doctor did mention that if my newest medication (Zoloft) doesn't help that we'll "have to get creative" which I take to mean a combo of some sort.

i was on effexor for 1.5 years. it took a while for the side effects to subside, which included me sobbing at dinner one night because it hurt too badly to chew, but eventually all was well. it worked the best for me while it worked. but my main reason for taking it was social anxiety, depression was #2. then after about 1.4 years, it made me not give a rat's ass about anything, so i stopped. tried zoloft, and it didn't do much of anything for me. now i'm on cymbalta and lyrica (for pain) and i knew one of them gave me some constant head ache, but now i'm also good. you should give them more than a month, because unfortunately, it takes longer than that to adjust.

Cymbalta works for me, but I still get depressed once in a while. So I see a counselor to help me sort things out. I sure hope you find something that works. I have heard about a combination of antidepressants too.

I use a combo of things - a huge dose of vitamin B complex works wonders. Evening Primrose Oil is a miracle worker in itself - I use this long with the B. When times are really tough I use LOTS of EPO and I feel like a new person. There are a few other things I know of but haven't tried myself.

LadyGrace - They say that you should give a drug at least a month and then never stop cold turkey. I've found that some of my side effects have dissipated after the first two weeks (including the one you mentioned).
