Just Like Lady Godiva (but not really)

26. Let my hair grow past my shoulders.

I’m calling this 40×40 a success. It’s the longest my hair has ever been and a far cry from my ‘do 21 months ago.

I’ve been really good about taking vitamins (Biotin and Prenatals), using sulfate-free shampoo (Organix Brazilian Keratin is my favorite), and laying off the blow-dryer and straightener, but not so good about frequent trims (I just had my first trim in 9 months yesterday).

My next goal is to let my hair grow to the middle of my back (or nipple-length, as my sister so elegantly described it). Do those of you with long hair have any advice for keeping it strong and healthy? Any insider tips for making hair grow faster?

I have Lady Godiva length ;) I found that getting rid of the silicones along with the sulfurs has made a huge difference, but I have a lot of natural wave that tends toward the frizz. Eliminating the silicones really lessened the frizz and made the curl nice. YMMV, of course.

I puffy heart the hell out of your glasses, too. With that cardigan and the longer hair, they make you all retro-fabulous.

I am in love with your glasses! Very cute.

No advise for long hair, I want to grow mine out, too. Sulfate free shampoo is a must and the less heat styling the better. Sounds like you’re doing everything right.

I use VO5 Shower Works once a week on my long hair. Not sure if it makes a difference overall but that day I use it I have perfect hair! :)

I haven’t used Vo5 in years! Thanks for reminding me, I will have to try it again soon – I remember it making my hair so shiny.

Sometimes I swear you are my sister from another mister. I am growing my hair out too! I would like to get it back down to the middle of my back, but hair is not known for it’s growing prowess. Perhaps I will attach weights to the bottom to stretch it out……
