Jams & Jellies.

That’s what I like to call the variety of skincare products I use daily.

I admit that I’m not a loyalist when it comes to most beauty products. (This excludes my mascara routine – I have a proprietary blend of mascaras that create the perfect not-quite-tarantula-lashes that I’ve yearned for since I started wearing makeup.) I like to try what’s new on the market, check out products my friends recommend, and browse the aisles of my local Walgreens on a Saturday night.

Please don’t judge me and my Saturday nights. They are awesome.

My current skincare routine is a hodge podge of products old and new. Now that I’m a Texan, I’ve made makeup and lotions with SPF a year-round must, but the rest is negotiable. Since the seasons don’t change too drastically here, neither does my routine, but I have noticed that the older I get, the more products line my shelves.

Here are the basics:

Morning: Wash face with Clean & Clear Morning Burst face wash. Have no idea if the fruity cranberry undertones are doing anything for my mood, but my skin is clear, so I won’t quibble. Apply a liberal amount of Eucerin Everyday Protection lotion with SPF 30. Don’t forget neck, collarbone, and cleavage. Nobody wants wrinkly boobs.

Evening: Wash face with makeup cloth to remove proprietary blend of mascaras and eyeliner ala Cleopatra. Quick swipe of Sea Breeze astringent for nostalgia’s sake.

Bedtime: A little dab of Oil of Olay on brows (I scowl), crows feet, and laugh lines. Roll Garnier anti-puff eye roller under each eye a dozen times. Carmex on knees and elbows. Gold Bond (sexy) on feet topped with socks (extra sexy).

Do you have a skincare routine? Does it change with the seasons? Are there any products that you swear by?
