Izeafest 2009
You want Izeafest conference gossip? You’ve got it.
One mouthy blogger opened the flood gates on the Screen Gems panel by making one snarky comment after another.
Another rowdy blogger was caught ordering bottles of champagne, accepting numerous shots from CEO Ted Murphy and ending the night adorned in glowing necklaces.
Oh shit. That was me.

I really can’t even begin to convey how much fun was had at Izeafest – a whirlwind visit to Disney World, VIP passes to Busch Garden’s Howl-O-Scream, private parties at Icebar and Howl at the Moon, riding the Manta at Seaworld – but I can tell you that of the five blogging conferences I’ve been to this year, Izeafest was the meatiest.
Panel after panel was informative, glaringly truthful, and entertaining. Aaron Brazell gave it to us straight and told us nobody gave a flying fart about our personal brand. Rae Hoffman ripped people’s blogs to shreds from an SEO perspective and they loved it. They ate it up. Sarah Evans wins the prize for the perkiest PR person ever. Lucretia Pruitt moderated her panel with an iron fist. Chris Brogan is savvy and sarcastic and I totally wanted to hug him.
And our event MC, Bob Kodzis, was most excellent. He took the stage and I felt stupid because I thought this guy sounds important, why do I not know his blog? Turns out he’s not a blogger at all – just the hostess with the mostess.
I’m already registered to attend two other blogging conferences in the spring, but what I’m really looking forward to is details about Izeafest 2010. You will see me there – bottle of champagne in hand.
Liar, you wanted to do more than hug him. LOL

So next year my plan is to nap during sessions like Screen Gems and then go out with you all and party. Or maybe nap during lunch because the Twitter stream during that session was just too good to miss.
