If you sprinkle…

I was out of the office for some work related meetings this morning, and snapped this picture in the bathroom at the printer.
It made me laugh because it’s one of those sayings that most everybody knows and keeps among friends and family, but wouldn’t think to put on a plaque and hang in a public place. But there is was. Right next to the light switch for everyone to see!
I was going to tell them that it made laugh, but if hanging the plaque in the bathroom was TMI, then certainly talking about it outside of the bathroom is inappropriate.
My memaw has this cross-stitched in one of her bathrooms. It’s been there for as long as I can remember! She also has one that says, “No job is finished until the paperwork is done.”

I don’t know what makes people think that a cute limerick will suddenly inspire irresponsible people to clean up after themselves. My favorite variation of this particular limerick is the one I saw on passive-aggressive notes, from Jamaica:
“IF YOU TWINKLE
WHEN YOU SPINKLE
PLEASE BE NEAT
WIPE THE SEAT”
