If blogs could hug, this one would. (a blogoversary giveaway)

Congratulations to the winner…@Keelydeux!

Thank you all for the kind and witty comments and for reading my blog for 9 whole years!

I’m no Oprah (or Pioneer Woman for that matter – have you seen her 12 days of Christmas? Someone is doing quite well for themselves. ) but I wanted to celebrate my 9-year blogoversay by giving one reader a token of my affection.

By which I mean, a Kindle.

Yes, it’s the one with ads. And yes, it’ll arrive after the holidays. But it’s the thought that counts, right? It’s one of my favorite things so I thought I’d share something I love with the people I love.

Just leave a comment – something nice, like a link to something pretty, your favorite macaroni & cheese recipe, or a promise to name your first born Corrin – and I’ll pick a random winner on New Year’s Day. If you really want to help me celebrate, follow me on Twitter, check out Oh Hey on Facebook, and/or subscribe to my feed.

Thanks for helping me celebrate my blogoversary, bitches! xo.

The fine print…This giveaway is sponsored by yours truly. Amazon has no idea who I am but they do know my credit card number. I’ll make every effort to contact the winner, but please verify your information before hitting submit. One entry per person, US only, Kindle will ship directly from Amazon after payday.

I think your blog is the tops! Congrats on 9 years – that means you were ahead of nearly everyone in the “blogosphere”!

I have to admit it was dear Ollie who introduced me to your blog. As a newly owned pet of a dachshund, I was looking around the blog-o-sphere to find some others who were also owned by their pups. Ollie pointed me straight to you! I thoroughly enjoy your blog as much as his, but don’t tell him!!

I’m very happy to say your blog enriches my life. Its encouraging to see your blog popping up on my Google Reader, after a post. I know that if it is sad, or bad, funny, ironic, quirky, or just a quick note, that it will be something uniquely “Corrin” that will make my day brighter or at least say ‘I’m not alone in feeling/seeing/doing that’

I’m leaving a link to your facebook page as my ‘link to something pretty’ https://www.facebook.com/corrinrenee. I tried to google for inappropriate photos of you, but it seems like you’ve avoided those being published. Good for you, bad for me, who is trying to brown nose by linking to you as my something pretty. :-)

If I win can you please send it to @momto3blessings’ V? I saw on twitter where she said V wanted one!

We would loooove a Kindle. My 5 dachshunds and I would fight over it, I’m sure (well, two of them, at least. The other three aren’t big readers, though they’d probably go in for a few trashy romance novels).

Ive read your blog for a couple of years now and love it. Happy blogaversary! Here’s to 9 years more!

Um, I already have 3 kids and refuse to have another. But, we did decide to name our first born Corrine. Sadly we had to go with the male version, Cameron, instead. Here’s what I’ll do for the Kindle though. Since my SIL hooked me up with you, on the conception of her first child I will hound her until the ink dries to name it Corrin. And while I spend far too much time on fb, I never think to look up other pages. I’ve now added yours so I can see it every time I log on. :^) Finally, and don’t over look this one, the reason my SIL mentioned you to me?…We both have amazing chests! Come on, what more can I do for you? Happy 9th Blogoversary!

Happy Anniversary! I’m a faithful reader as well and LOVE your blog!

Sorry my first born already has a name. It’s Kealah but I will start calling her Corrin if that will count. =)
    Happy Holidays!

My firstborn is Matthew. I think he’s pretty attached to his name having it 9 years now. But it never hurts to ask. I’ll let you know.

Love reading your tweets and I just found you on facebook too.

“Submit Witty Comment” is quite a lot of pressure.

Well…I have held off on following you on twitter and fb b/c I’ve expressed my feeling on being a stalker, but I figure what better time than now? Plus, if I win the kindle, I may know a guy who knows about a new dishwasher…haha! Absolutely kidding :)

Hope you have a Merry Christmas!

I am a daily reader (lurker) and love your blog. I can’t believe you have been doing this for nine years! Very impressive, my dear.

Ya know, if PW wasn’t so humble, I’d have some hate that way, but my gosh, don’t you just want to be invited to the Lodge for a cookie making party? LOL

  17. says

I love the design of your blog first of all! Congrats on the 9 year blogoversary second of all! I never thought I would want to jump on the electronic reader band wagon, but I was so wrong (kinda like twitter and Facebook, but here I am). I want one sooo bad, but don’t see being able to treat myself to one anytime soon…unless I win :) Thanks for the chance!

YOu said leave something fun so I thought I would leave you with a little story.

Every year I make tons and tons of goodies including cookies, fudge, carmel corn, peanut brittle, rosettes…a lot of stuff. This year I was scaling back on what I was making so I asked the kids to all pick a favorite and 3 of them picked those stupid slice and bake cookies you get at the grocery store…. all this work for so long and I could have just bought those. 😉

    love this Pumpkin roll recipe:

    Cake Ingredients:

    3 eggs
    1 cup sugar
    3/4 cup pumpkin
    1 teaspoon lemon juice
    3/4 cup all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
    1 teaspoon ginger
    2 teaspoons cinnamon
powdered sugar (needed for a towel, to keep the cake from sticking)

    Cream Cheese Filling Ingredients:

    1 cup powdered sugar
1 8-ounce package of cream cheese, softened
    4 tablespoons butter
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    Powdered sugar for topping

    1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In a large bowl, mix together eggs, sugar, pumpkin, and lemon juice.

    2. In a separate bowl, mix flour, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg.

    3. Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture and stir until well blended.

    4. Spray a 10 1/2″ by 15″ non-stick cookie sheet with cooking spray. Pour the batter onto the cookie sheet, spread evenly.

    5. Bake 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

    6. Prepare a clean kitchen towel by sprinkling heavily with powdered sugar.

    7. After baking, turn the cookie sheet onto the towel, the cake should slide out onto the towel. Starting at one end, roll up the cake into the towel. Cool 30-40 minutes.

    8. For the filling, stir together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla and butter. Mix well.

    9. After the roll has cooled, unroll it and spread the filling evenly. Roll back up without the towel. Wrap in foil or plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least an hour, or until filling is firm.

    10. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.

Oh hey, how fun! I follow you all over the place. I hope I win because everyone in my family got iPads for Christmas EXCEPT ME. and this would ease the sting of that. Plus I can read the classics on it and that’s one of my resolutions.
