Oh hey, what's up?

Harassed by Wii Fit

I love Wii Fit. I do it every day (rhythm boxing and advanced step) and I do the body test once a week. Since starting, I’ve gone from a Wii Fit age of 42 (that was an eye opener) to a Wii Fit age of 26 (younger than my actual age)!

wii-fitWhile Mike also loves Wii Fit, he’s not quite as dedicated as I am and the little balance board has taken to asking me about Mike during my sessions. At first it just asked if I’ve seen Mike lately, but today it asked me to talk to Mike about his fitness routine and to bring it up nicely, by telling him he’s been “living large” and it’s time to Wii Fit.

These queries aren’t phasing Mike, but I’m scared of being belittled by the balance board (the boxing instructing telling me to come back tomorrow because I can do better is enough for me). I’d eventually like for the balance board not to say “ow” when I step on it.

So, has Wii Fit said anything funny to you? Has it shamed you into exercising? Harassed your significant other?

My friend Nikki has one and she occasionally tells me of its belittling attitude toward her. I don’t take to criticism very well, so it’s a good thing we’re a Playstation/XBOX family.

I sold my Wii Fit to my mom, but it always said “ooh” when I stepped on, which I took to mean “Ooh, you cow, that hurts!” Mom told me the other day that it’s started harassing her about me not using it.

Mine kept complaining of how long it had been since I last visited! LOL I sold that condescending piece of plastic. My big butt is very stubborn.

I have to admit, it’s been months since I’ve been on my WiiFIt board! When we turn on the Wii though, I see it on the screen saying it’s been way to long since I’ve visited! ugh!

we haven’t gotten a wii fit yet, but we’ve been thinking about it. i think it’s hilarious that it can talk to you like that!

My daughter and her family have the wii fit. Her children put the image that they chose of their father on it. He got on it the one time and it said that he was obese! First, it kicked his butt. He was wore out. He only needs to lose 25-30 lbs, but he is 6’4″. He hasn’t been on it since. He likes the other wii games!

Wow Corrin! You’re doing very well with Wii Fit! I was thinking of getting the Wii system and the Wii Fit equipment, especially since I hate the heat and humidity of summer and don’t even like doing what I have to do in it. I take it the balance board and other Wii Fit equipment you need comes all together in a package then?

Joan – We bought the Wii game console this time last year and we just bought the Wii Fit balance board a few weeks ago. You don’t need any of the pricey bundles to do the exercises, and both the Wii game console and the Wii Fit comes with all the games most people associate with Wii. It was a good investment for us, entertainment and exercise all in one!

    Corrin,

Thanks for your sweet comments on my blog. Memories are all we have, really. Thank goodness for memories.

We purchased the wii fit several months ago but haven’t really used it as regularly as we should. Has it helped you lose weight? I need to break that out. I haven’t felt shamed by it but I could see my husband throwing daggers at it with his eyes when his mii’s waist grew round!
