Hanes has partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation to do something really great this Earth Day. When you buy any 3 Hanes products, the Arbor Day Foundation will plant a tree (up to 20,000 trees) on Hanes’ behalf and you’ll receive a free Earth Day T-shirt*!
There is lots of great earth-friendly information on the Hanes Green website, including Hanes’ statement of environmental responsibility and stewardship, green tips (add a tip for a chance to win a $100 Hanes gift certificate!), and how to claim your Earth Day t-shirt.

i went to a community cleanup at the lake!

On Earth Day, I made 2 projects out of recycled items with my K-1 class. First, we all made hats out of newspaper. Then we each made little signs out of recycled cardboard boxes with “green” reminders like: Don’t waste water! or Turn off the lights! They will display those signs at their homes.

I think someone was fishing for comments today on Twitter (I won’t mention any names). Sounds like a good contest! If I were an Earth Day aficianado I would participate, but as you may have read from my blog, I am not a big fan. Not to mention, I litter. But it’s a controlled littering! I only litter when there are people picking up litter by the side of the road. They seem to appreciate the gesture…
