Green, Kelly Green… (a guest post)
A few days ago, I put a call out on Twitter for
bloggers to do my dirty work guest bloggers and Michelle from hillstyle was the first to respond! I read her post on tomato red fashions and knew I’d send her on the hunt for the latest in my favorite color – green. It was like having my own personal shopper! I think she did a fantastic job – I mean seriously, that hat? Perf. Make sure to follow @hills_style on Twitter for all of Michelle’s fashion finds.
If you’d like to guest post – contact me! I thought it would be fun to mix things up with some new faces around here. Fashion, food, style, and snark are always welcome.
Before I get started, I want to say a quick thank you to Corrin, the genius behind Oh Hey for letting me guest blog and introduce myself. I am Michelle from hillstyle where I blog about personal style and things I love.
One thing I love – a vibrant kelly green during the summer. In fact one my current wardrobe staples is a Kelly green dress from Velvet by Graham & Spencer. When Corrin told me her favorite color was this particular green hue, this post started writing itself! Visions of dresses and jewelry and shoes danced in my head as I dreamed of them making their way from the store to my closet…adding just the right touch of color to my staples this summer!
While I tend to lean towards blacks during the winter, I do my best to banish the color from my closet during the summer. That is one of the great things about summer – you can find bright colors and sexy sundresses everywhere.
Here are my rules for creating a look with this bright green – a little goes a long way (one Kelly green piece per outfit, pretty please). DO NOT mix Kelly green with chocolate brown or red…they are just bad color combos. DO pair it with yellow, grey, ivory, a splash of pink and my favorite navy blue!
Here are some pieces to add to your wardrobe…mix wisely!
The color and print are great and the style is so versatile. And, even better, it is one of a kind!
Kate Spade bauble is the perfect way to add just a splash of color to an outfit. (I actually have a turquoise dress that would be perfect with this…hmmm.)
Colored denim is all the rage right now…and these green skinnies are pretty fab!
Over-the-top fabulousness…no explanation required!
Love the shape, love the color, love the pattern..love it!
I am LOVING the collaboration between Lacoste and Katherine Malandrino right now, and this dress does not disappoint! This isn’t quite a true Kelly green, but it is too perfect not to include.
Love the style and color of this coat (and the price)! Buy it now and I promise your drab winter wardrobe will thank you later!Pretty Like a Pony
