Funky Camera Straps from Phat Straps
I’ve been obsessed with my new digital camera since it arrived, so obviously the generic black camera strap that came with it just would. not. do.
After browsing a few dorky camera accessory sites, I came across Phat Straps and had to order a handmade camera strap right then and there. It only took me a few minutes to choose a cute fabric and after opting to add the super soft lining, all that was left to do was wait.
I didn’t have to wait long and I was not disappointed when my new strap arrived. It is super cute and comfy and it makes me feel all fancy-like when I’m taking blurry pictures and learning how to use my new camera.
Check Phat Straps out. Totally found their site with a random Google search and couldn’t recommend them more.

Christina – They usually bug me too, but my new camera is big and bulky so it comes in handy. The strap also has these great clips so you can quickly unhook your camera.

Connie – It takes some getting used to to wear the camera strap, but it is much easier and I take a lot more pictures when I don’t have to dig around for my camera.

I got one of of those fat straps for my birthday. Although it looks alright, the fuzzy stuff made my neck sweat. It’s basically a basic cheap strap with ends cut off with craft store fabric on it. It’s like taking pictures with a feather boa on, not good for pros who work elsewhere besides in air conditioning. And the stictching had lots of loose threads. I know its handmade, I guess I’m used to the craftsmanship like my Hermes bags. And the camera tech at the shop said Nikon wouldn’t cover warranty if damaged from an altered strap. I rather have Crimpler or a Souldier camera strap like the blog photojojo recommends those seatbelt straps as they have thousands of things to choose from. Also actien straps has some good leather ones. That’s 2 cents and opinion as a person who at least 7 hours daily.

Cindy – That’s too bad. I haven’t had any trouble with my strap and it attaches to my camera the exact same way the strap that came with my Canon does. I actually work with a professional photographer also (food photography) and he complimented my strap and I was going to purchase him one for his birthday.
I guess I just don’t know what I’m missing since I haven’t had the Hermes equivalent.

Hey Corrin, I wish there was a hermes camera strap. However, I waited 2 years for the bag to be made, It was an anniversary present from my husband who let me pick it out. There is a waiting list for most of their items, so I’m assuming the camera strap would have a long wait too. This morning I did order a custom camera strap at http://www.souldier.us. A holiday online shopping splurge. I ordered several pairs of shoes from zappos. It was a orange/fuchsia/navy owl vintage fabric from the 70′s. I got it with orange seatbelt and brass hardware. I searched alot of reviews and seems that Souldier is the strongest and best boutique camera strap. It was a close tie with Actien straps as they make a cool Jimmy Buffet strap. Have a great holiday weekend:)
