Four Foods on Friday

1966173331 71141d5f0aWe’re a bunch of comedians this week with the Four Foods on Friday theme of funny sounding food! This should be good.

1. What’s the funniest sounding food or ingredient you know of?

Schnitzel always makes me laugh.

2. How do you pronounce “cavatelli”?

cav-ah-dell

3. How do you pronounce “gnocchi”?

knee-oh-kee

4. Share a recipe that calls for mozzarella cheese.

Tomato bread is a favorite. Cover slices of Italian bread with butter and a sprinkle of garlic salt and layer with a slice of tomato and a handful of mozzarella cheese. Broil until cheese is brown and bubbly. Also fantastic on a toasted bagel.

We make something similar to the tomato bread except we use pasta sauce in place of the tomato. Yours sounds yummy too!

Schnitzel is pretty funny! Always reminds me of when my grandpa would call me snicklefritz for some reason!

Thanks for sounding them out for me, I would not have had a clue. As for funny words, this isn’t so much funny as drives me crazy, but my father says PAST-A versus pasta… even typing it drives me nuts LOL!

Instead of raw tomatoes, I tend to use pasta sauce. But I might try it with raw tomatoes next time :)
