Karen - Cinnamon toast was my dad's specialty when he made breakfast! We used to get those cinnamon sugar shakers that were shaped like different characters, remember those?

Lynne - I think you're right. A brown sugar sandwich does double duty. Not to mention, the same friend used to put brown sugar on white rice!

Hi Corrin! I love mac & cheese with peas, tuna and a can of cream of celery soup mixed in. That's a real comfort food! So is mac & cheese made with milk, margarine, relish and Miracle Whip, topped with 8 fish sticks in a wagon wheel pattern and wedge or diced tomatoes in the center and between the "spokes" I think my mom said brown sugar sandwiches were something her family had during the depression. She was born in 1934 but remembers having some favorites from those made during the 20s and 30s.
