Four Foods on Friday

Fun, Crafts and Recipes We all need to congratulate ourselves. We made it through the first full week of 2009 and it’s time for Four Foods on Friday! I’m sure most of us made a food-related resolutions, promise, or dream. I started Atkins this week, so what better way to torture myself than to talk about carbs!

Just joking! Here are this week’s four delectable questions…

1. Waffles. Do you usually eat frozen or homemade?

Frozen, but we do love Batter Blaster!

2. Eggs. Do you buy brown, white, or it doesn’t matter?

I’m intimately involved with eggs since starting Atkins, but I’ve never seen brown in the grocery store. We do get them quite often at work from a local farmer for photoshoots, though.

3. Oatmeal. Do you usually make instant or cooked?

Instant, maple and brown sugar. Ahhh…if only.

4. Bacon. Share instructions or a recipe that you use bacon in.

Being on Atkins, I’ve been eating bacon every day. My favorite is the pre-cooked, microwavable bacon from Costco. 45 seconds in the microwave, and it’s perfect with eggs. 60 seconds and it’s nice and crunchy to crumble into recipes.

  2. I need to check out that bacon. It sounds convenient. I stand there for 10-15 minutes waiting for bacon to fry.

  5. I don’t know how you feel about egg beaters, but those are quick, easy, and less messy. Might be a nice break from the real thing down the road.

  7. Karen – It’s super convenient and tastes great. Plus, I like that it doesn’t contain a lot of grease and I can blot any excess off really easily.
