Flu Shot
Today is a day I’ve been looking forward to for a long time. I started asking when today would come as soon as someone in the office sneezed. I even started to get a little nervous because I had to wait longer than usual for today to come. Today is flu shotday.
I’ve gotten a flu shot every year since 1998 and I’ve only gotten the flu once, so I figure the odds are in my favor, and signed up for my free shot. I know Mike isn’t too keen on the flu shot, he thinks it’s a placebo and doesn’t trust anything made of chicken, but I’ll be the one laughing when he’s puking his guts out and I’ve still got a spring in my step.

My poor husband came down with the flu this morning
even though he got his flu shot late last week. I guess he was exposed before that. Every year he gets the flu shot but every year he would catch the flu (twice last year). Poor guy.
I am not saying the shot doesn’t work. I don’t think it wouldn’t be given if it wasn’t proven to prevent catching the flu or at least make the symptoms bearable for those who catch the worse case of the flu.
To date, I have never caught the vomiting/diarrhea flu (knock on wood). I had the flu shot once several years ago but I stopped. My personal and crazy theory to the flu defense…Tabasco–and (I) consume lots of it!! And that I generally keep my body temperature warm (what some would consider hot). Hopefully I won’t catch the flu this year (crossing my fingers).
If the shot works for you, I’d definitely do it. I think I don’t just because I hate needles and avoid being poked whenever I have the option.

I’ve heard the Tabasco theory before, and I say if something works, don’t stop!
