I wonder if she paid $15.95 for her eyeglasses at Zenni Optical, like I did?

I’m guessing with her hand that far in the crazy, she didn’t.

(For the record, I think Britney is fabulous and I’m still banking on a full comeback. Maybe I have my hand in the crazy.)

Eyeglasses are an accessory and I change mine accordingly. I love to wear trendy, colorful, and funky frames and have a growing collection of eyeglasses. If it weren’t for Zenni Optical and eyeglasses starting at only $8, I’d be wearing the same boring glasses every single day, because unless you’re Britney Spears, you can’t afford to buy the latest designer frames on a whim.

Chubby girls everywhere jumped for joy.

(With no repercussions since we’re all wearing our Spanx body shapers, of course.)

Until we visited Spanx.com and saw that every model strutting around in a Spanx Slimming Swimsuit is a size 2 and disappears when they turn sideways.

Basically, the last people that would ever need a Spanx swimsuit.

To add insult to injury, the largest size is a size 16. A generous size 16, but a size 16 nonetheless.

So here’s my proposal, Spanx.

Prove that your new Slimming Swimsuits live up to the Spanx reputation.

Your target market needs convincing.

(Or so my informal Twitter poll of 4 other chubby girls leads me to believe.)

I’m a size 16-18 with some bodacious boobs. Send me samples of your new Spanx Slimming Swimsuits. Let me try them on and model them for my readers.

I promise not to use the fake tan and instaslim options on Picnik and I’ll even return the swimsuits when I’m finished.

Nobody really thinks Titanic in 3D is a good idea, do they?

Sinking ship? Celine Dion? Goofy glasses? Is this sounding like something anyone would want to waste 194 minutes rehashing?

Although, I totally forgot that Bill Paxton played the hippie treasure hunter that wants the old lady’s ice, and if Titanic in 3D has Bill Paxton’s approval, it has mine.

Shocking.

My family lived in five different houses growing up. During college, I lived in one dorm and three different apartments. After college, I moved back home (which was a rental at the time because my parents were building a new house), then into the new house, then into an apartment, and then back home again. After graduate school, I moved to Indianapolis, where I lived in two three different apartments with my sister. Then I got married and moved to Chicago into an apartment with my husband. And now we live in an apartment in Austin.

Check my math, but that means I’ve lived in 17 18 different homes, apartments, and dorms.

My parents are now in their 7th house, and it blows my mind to think that there are families that live in the same home for generations. Generations! My family can barely stay in the same house for two years.

I can confidently attribute not having ever lived under a bridge to websites like Move.com. I’ve never had shady landlords, I’ve always lived in relatively nice buildings, and I’ve managed to stay on the good side of the tracks.

I’ve lived next door to many crazy people though. Like the lady who screamed bloody murder in the shower and the couple who ate nothing but curry and the unemployed wannabe gangsta with the never ending baby mama drama. And we can’t forget the guy who couldn’t close a door or cabinet without slamming it and the woman who never walked anywhere, preferring to ride her Segway down the hall to get the mail.

The next time we move, it will be into a house of our own. A house I will die in, because I’m only moving once more in this lifetime if I can help it.

Fact: I didn’t start wearing makeup until my Junior year of highschool. I distinctly remember my mom ordering me to put on blush and mascara before school pictures. I did not look happy in that picture.

But it was all mascara and black eyeliner after that!

Fact: I am so in love with eyeliner, that I had mine tattooed on, though I still apply extra!

Now my bathroom looks like this – makeup, shoes, jewelry. All equally important in the grand scheme of things.

Fact: I’m a stickler for organization. It’s safe to say I’m a tad compulsive.

Today, I wore leggins* for the first time in approximately 17 years.

It took my husband approximately 7 minutes to make fun of me.

Oddly enough, he had no problem with the fluorescent yellow cardigan I was also wearing.

Or the Crocs.

*They were leggins when I wore them in the 80s and leggins when I wore them in the 90s. I’m not adding the -g just because it’s 2010.

If my parents did hand over their hard earned 1985 currency for that monstrosity, I’d like to give my mother the opportunity to defend their actions in the comments.

But when encouraged to write about a couch – any couch I’ve ever encountered in my entire 30 years of couch encountering – this is the couch I instantly thought of.

I called my mom to ask for that one picture of that ugly plaid couch with the she interrupted wooden armrests and big cushion buttons.

Oh, yes.

I know the one.

Because that plaid seared itself onto our young, impressionable brains.
