Watching…I love watching TV on DVD an entire season at a time. I don’t have the patience to watch to week to week — I just want to watch every episode back to back to back — so I have Sons of Anarchy season 4 and all episodes of Call the Midwife is all queued up and ready to watch over Thanksgiving. Unlikely pair, right?

Reading…I’m working my way through a stack of books and just finished The Newlyweds, a really lovely “story of love and marriage, secrets and betrayals, that takes us from the backyards of America to the back alleys and villages of Bangladesh.” I don’t think the dramatic scenes were quite as dramatic as the author intended, but the story had a flow that was irresistible. I’m now diving into a galley of The House Girl (One of the perks of working in publishing – I get to read new books before they are published!) and all signs point to it being an excellent read.

Listening to…I really feel like John Mayer’s latest album, Born and Raised, got overlooked. It’s so mellow and groovy and has quickly joined the ranks of O by Damien Rice and the soundtrack to Amélie as the albums I listen to to chill the hell out.

Eating…Cuties. You know, those tasty and adorable little clementines. I’ve had my eye out for Cuties for weeks and I was so excited to see my grocery get a shipment last Friday. For the next several months I will literally eat a 5 lb. box a week.

Looking forward to…Tulum! No traditional Thanksgiving for our family — this year we’ll be celebrating together in Mexico. We’re having Thanksgiving dinner at a little beach-side restaurant called Hartwood and I’m so looking forward to it.

Dreading…Leaving my dog at the puppy hotel for eight nights. I hate being a big baby about this, but I just feel so bad that he has to be away from home for so long. Please tell me his tiny little pea brain thinks I’m just going to the store?

How about you? What are you up to?

I’m not a musical person. I can play a mean cover of Hot Cross Buns on the recorder, but that’s about it. Yet, I wake up almost every morning singing a song. A completely random tune that I haven’t consciously heard in I-don’t-know-how-long. Most are practically before my time and I don’t usually remember my dreams so I have no idea what kind of meaning they might hold.

One thing they all have in common – I know every single word.

Here are a few highlights from the last month:

Captain and Tennille – Love will Keep Us Together

Michael Jackson – Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough

Pasty Cline – Blue Moon of Kentucky

Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, and John Lennon where regular dinner guests growing up (my family really don’t like to hear each other chew), so maybe I was dreaming about my family. Or really loud chewing sounds.

Lisa Lisa – Head to Toe

Manfred Mann – Blinded by the Light

I just finished reading This is How by Augusten Burroughs, who also wrote Running with Scissors. This song was on the soundtrack to the film. It’s a stretch, I know.

Alicia Bridges – I Love the Night Life

Journey – Oh Sherry

Cher – Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves

My college roommates used to pick me up from class in a purple Grand AM blaring this song. Maybe I’m trying to relive my youth in my dreams.

Weird, right? Do you have any dream quirks? Reoccurring dreams or dream themes? Do you sleep walk? (That’s another blog post for another day. Needless to say, I used to.)

  • I ran out of ways to say enjoying so we’ll be appreciating until I run out of ways to say that, too.
  • I’d never heard of a sleeptop before, but I bought one on a whim and am now a huge fan. (Edit: Was a huge fan until my sleeptop ripped the first week I wore it. So disappointed.)
  • The awesomeness that is Art-o-mat. Refurbished cigarette machines filled with fine art from local artists dispensed for $5 a pop. I bought three.
  • Sweet Tea Vodka. This may trump Cupcake Vodka.
  • OPI Skull & Glossbones.

  • These Trieste Sandals in tan (c/o Wanted Shoes). Super cute online; even cuter in person. Worn them twice and have gotten compliments both times.
  • Having my blog header updated so it actually looks like me. I change my hair color more often than my oil. (Coming Soon!)
  • Land’s End mesh polos (c/o Land’s End). Soft, breathable, comfortable; I totally bogarted a men’s red polo to complete my preppy sailor look this spring. I love the longer sleeves and more generous length.
  • This love ring seen at Cupcakes & Cashmere. I’m obsessed. If they had my size, I’d snatch it right up.  (But is it something you can buy for yourself? I feel like it needs a good story.)
  • Jane Austen Fight Club.
  • The new Britney Spears album. Try not to dance in your chair to this song. (whoa oh oh oh oh ohhhhhh.)
  • Job offers. Two, to be exact.

What are you enjoying lately?
