I know Jane Birkin made the basket as bag famous, but really? She’s Jane Birkin. What didn’t she make famous? But her infamous basket as purse malfunction is the reason the Birkin bag exists, so the reliability of the basket is questionable, at best.

Which is all to ask: are you guys feeling (and buying) the wicker trend? Or is it better left to picnics and Golden Girls reruns? I’m on a great big wicker fence. I am loving the Zara rounded wicker satchel, but I think I can do without the rest.

1. Zara wicker handbag $26 (sold out)
2. Kate Spade Delavan Terrace Little Nadine $398
3. Kohl’s wood and wicker bangle bracelet set $24
4. ASOS wicker bangles $14.32
5. Jessica Simpson Cizal Sandal $98
6. Tory Burch Dalcin Wicker Platform $395
7. Ravel leather & wicker sling back wedge $93.11
8. Tory Burch Vivian Rattan Clutch $123

  • Was anyone else so so disappointed with the Mad Men premier?
  • Sophie the teething giraffe has been around forever and I love her. I want to buy one and put it away in case she isn’t around when (If? My eggs are getting old.) I have kids.
  • Stackable zigzag rings (as seen on Mimi+Meg).
  • This necklace is lovely. I’m always drawn to green.
  • It’s officially too hot for tights in Texas, but these hombre tights are tempting. Maybe hombre nail polish is a better choice.
  • This sequin weekender bag is reminiscent of the Kate Spade sequin bag that I obsessed over months ago (and which is sadly no longer available).
  • Speaking of Kate Spade, the Eat Cake for Breakfast bag is on sale. And it’s in my shopping cart. And now it’s on its way to my front door.
  • New glasses from Lookmatic. I can’t go to the grocery store without someone asking me where I got my glasses. Lookmatic should hire me.

Do you have any big plans this weekend? On my agenda: dog park, RedBox, and laundry. It’s gonna be a rip-roarin’ good time.

Cardigans are a staple in my wardrobe (le duh). I wear them year-round with button-ups, dresses, tees, and tanks. Rarely do you see me without a cardigan, so this mustard-colored (a new neutral IMO) Lands’ End crew cardigan worked itself into my wardrobe like an old friend. One that I turned to on four separate occasions this week for wardrobe support (and even slept with – without regrets, of course).

Ever the consummate fashion blogging professional, I’ve Instagram’ed my outfit choices to share.

Lands’ End cardigan with Forever21+ belted tunic
Lands’ End cardigan with GAP silk tunic and Forever21 statement necklace
Lands’ End Cardigan with GAP outlet dress and Forever21 beaded necklace
Lands’ End cardigan with GAP jeans and Mossimo boyfriend tee

The lovely people at Lands’ End provided me with the cardigan pictured to add to my wardrobe. Please see my site policy with any questions.

I know Pantone declared tangerine tango the color of the year, but they’re wrong. What they meant to say was that mint is the color of the year and tangerine tango is it’s maid of honor.

Just look at this combo. There’s no denying they’re a match made in heaven, but mint is the real star, IMHO.

1. J.Crew Crystal Stripe-Link Bracelet $42
2. Essie Mint Candy Apple $4.99
3. Otte Linen Scarf $90
4. Splendid Striped Jersey T-Shirt $68
5. TopShop Mint Mermaid Belt $28
6. Mint Teardrop Earrings $ridiculous
7. ASOS Patent Loafers $68.04
8. Linda Farrow Clear Mint Sunglasses $357
9. TopShop Mint Structured Shopper $56

Psst. I try to only include items that I could feasibly purchase. Do you guys like seeing the prices? Or can you do without?

I know my sister is mortified by the sheer number of photos I take and share but it’s so fun! And all my friends do it! And it’s good for my self esteem! So here we go…

Smitten Kitchen’s shakshuka recipe is to die for – I made a giant batch and ate it all week. Artichokes and broccoli were also on the menu in abundance – 17 day diet approved! And then I found myself back at Easy Tiger. This time for the smoke salmon spread on baguette. You’ll end up smelling like a stray cat, but it is tasty.

Saturday was the perfect weather for my Gavin DeGraw hat (a Christmas present from my sister – she should have expected it would end up on Instagram). While the rest of the week was warm and sunny, calling for new Minnetonkas, statement necklaces (only $12!), and sundresses.

We had a visitor at work this week – Sir Franklin Spencer (who is half wiener dog, if you can believe it). I wanted to put him at the CEO’s desk but had to settle for a coworker’s. I stripped the bed to wash the sheets and blankets and found out that my dog is a hoarder and that I’ve basically been sleeping in his toy box. Which means that the logical thing to do was buy him a bed of his own. Now, iff he’d only stop barking at it. If I had a backyard, I feel certain that little white pup would have come home from the pet store with me. (He was up for adoption, not for sale.)

My absolute favorite Instagram of the week was taken during a weeknight trip to the grocery. Not only was the cutest elderly couple in the world wearing some stylin’ hats, they were pushing the cart together. Side-by-side. I wanted to wiggle between them and have a group hug.
