Bible Belt from Diane Birch

DB CoverOnce I got over her eyelashes (they are amazing, aren’t they?), I was a little suspicious of Diane Birch. She’s the daughter of a preacher and her new album is named Bible Belt, and if I’m being completely honest, I can’t say I was anxious to jam to a holy roller.

After giving Bible Belt a good listen, all I can say is Oh Lord is it a fantastic album! It’s ever bit as impressive as her eyelashes.

I can’t quite put my finger on who Diane Birch sounds like, but she’s been compared to Carol King and Linda Ronstadt, and I hear a little Motown pop appeal. Bible Belt is the type of CD that you put on repeat and let play while you’re driving, doing housework, or sitting in the sun. It’s upbeat and snappy, and makes the perfect sound track to…well, life!

Download a free copy of Fire Escape and you’ll see what I mean. Once you’re convinced that Bible Belt needs to be the sound track to your summer, be sure to download the album from Amazon or iTunes to Discover & Donate to one of six fantastic charities. For every copy of Bible Belt that is downloaded through the widgets you’ll see around the blogosphere, Diane’s label S-Curve will make a generous $1 donation to that charity.
