Ballas Hough Band Debut Album
Some people get all the luck. Not only can Mark Ballas and Derrick Hough, of Dancing with the Stars fame, cut a rug, they can also sing and strum a mean guitar. Not fair.
I listened to the debut CD from the The Ballas Hough Band all the way into work this morning, and I didn’t fast forward through a single song. That may not sound like a huge deal, but if song doesn’t grab me in the first couple of seconds, I’m on to the next one.
My favorite song on the CD is Together Faraway. It’s very smooth and jazzy, and they even break it down in the middle for a bit. Their style is a mix of Maroon 5 and Backstreet Boys, which is a great combo of funky cool and pop if you ask me.
Mark and Derrick didn’t just decide to make an album on a whim, they’ve been musical partners for over a decade and their band mates aren’t slackers, either. Bassist Sam Marder is from Surrey’s Academy of Contemporary Music, Harry Sullivan is a talented drummer, and Emily Grace is a classically trained pianist.
Serious talent, I tell you. Buy their debut album from Amazon and be amazed!

I was impressed. I have to admit that my expectations weren’t very high. What are the odds they’d all be so talented!
