Austin Staycation: Lakeway Resort and Spa

I was invited to be a guest at Lakeway Resort and Spa. All opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the sponsors that make this blog possible!

I have a confession to make. I’ve lived in Austin for over four years and I’ve never seen Lake Travis. I realize how ridiculous this sounds. I mean, it’s a lake. In the city where I live. How could I miss it?

Well, there’s no missing it at Lakeway Resort and Spa.

Sunny Day at Lakeway Resort and Spa Austin, Austin StaycationThe resort is tucked away in an upscale residential area that’s far enough from the city to feel like a vacation but close enough for a weekend getaway.

All rooms have been recently redesigned with a fresh and contemporary feel that compliments the colors of the lake and feels peaceful and relaxing. The ceilings are also sky high, giving the spacious rooms an even airier feel.

Bed at Lakeway Resort and Spa AustinMy lakeview room had a comfortable sitting area and a great work station with plenty of space to spread out and blog. The wi-fi is also fast and free, which I took full advantage of in blissfully uninterrupted silence.

Work Zone at Lakeway Resort and Spa AustinIt’s no secret that room service is one of my most favorite things in life, so I treated myself to a steak and salad from Masterson’s Restaurant, which didn’t disappoint. (Not pictured: chocolate cake. Which I may have eaten first. Shhhh.)

Room service at Lakeway Resort and Spa AustinI woke up early the next morning to get a good spot at the adults only pool. The area filled up quickly and definitely had a party vibe with the swim-up bar, but the view was really lovely and the margaritas didn’t hurt.

Drink Service at Lakeway Resort and Spa Austin, Austin StaycationIf you have little ones, there’s a separate pool with slides and water features for them to splash around in all day. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t tempted to give that slide a go.

Kids Pool at Lakeway Resort and Spa Austin, Austin StaycationThough I didn’t try any services, there’s a full-service spa on site if you require some additional pampering. You can also golf and sail and jet ski and fish nearby, so there’s no shortage of activities if lounging poolside isn’t your thing.

Sunset at Lakeway Resort and Spa AustinI really enjoyed my stay, from the people to the view to the room service. We stayed there 2 summers ago for Free Fun in Austin. I loved it. Plus they comped us some child care, so Christian and I could eat dinner alone and have no idea what to talk about with no children to harass about eating their food.
