74 Cardigans
I was elated to wake up to 55 degree weather today. It’s officially cardigan weather. I wear cardigans year-round, but I feel my cardigan devotion is validated when I can dig deep into my closet and pull out my comfiest cardigans without suffering heat stroke in Texas.
But at what point does liking something (in this case, that something being wonderful, glorious, figure flattering cardigans) go from a preference to a full on obsessive disorder in need of psychiatric evaluation and an episode of Hoarders?
Right about…here.
Ever wonder what 74 cardigans look like? Wonder no more.
The breakdown: 2 navy, 3 red, 4 white, 7 black, 9 brown, 11 gray, 16 brights, 1 argyle, 3 embroidered, 5 beaded, 6 cable knit, 9 flowered, 14 striped, 5 with tags, and 3 that I will never ever wear again. In some universe, that adds up to 74 cardigans in varying colors, patterns, textures, and sleeve lengths.
And I ordered this one today.
Fess up. How many cardigans do you own?

I am pretty jealous of your cardigan collection. I probably have about 20. They’re a great addition to my work wardrobe, especially because I can use them to cover up v-neck shirts or anything else that may show too much cleavage.

Agreed! I don’t have much in the way of seasonal clothing, I just layer with cardigans.

I don’t own any. I used to have a beautiful sea-green cashmere one. It died. I haven’t had the heart (or the cash) to replace it. Can I have a cardigan, please?

It might be necessary. I could wear a different cardigan every day for almost THREE MONTHS. There’s something troubling about that.

Hi Corrin! It’s been a while and arriving to find that you have more cardigans that I have clothes (okay maybe that’s not entirely accurate, but darn close) is… amazing? shocking? strange? lucky for you?
Anyway, I don’t believe I own a single one. Oh no, wait! I do. It’s brown with gold-like trim on the lapel area – I think I got it at a thrift store years and years ago, but I do love it – only pull it out in the cold weather (Las Vegas, cardigans, summer… don’t think so LOL).
Stay warm! (Though I’m positive you don’t have any problem in that area!)

I don’t own any. In fact, I don’t have too many cold weather clothes period because it doesn’t get that cold here in Georgia. However, having seen your pics, I’m starting to think there’s something wrong with me for not having at least one. I did have an office sweater once, but my sister borrowed it and never gave it back.
Hmm. Maybe next time Old Navy has a sale…

Hi, Staci. You need to get yourself some cardigans! I can say with full confidence that I’ve gotten all my cardigans on sale, and Old Navy is one of the best places to find a new cardigan under $10.

I never actually counted mine but now I want to. I thought that I had alot but it must be only about half of what you have. I love cardigans and turtlecks which I often pair up.

Start layering! I really do wear a cardigan most every day and if I’m not wearing one, I throw one in my purse in case I need it when I’m out and about.

I have 5 or six – got rid of the most when we moved to SoCal 2 years ago. I love cardigans (my mother is an artist and she did a lot of knitting for us during the years…those were unique and my favorite), but 74??? I do not have room for my skimpy wardrobe, let alone 74 cardis:)
