The Only 3 Summer Shoe Styles You Need

This might seem a little premature, but I’m going to make a bold statement:

You only need three summer shoe styles to get you through the season.

I’m comfortable making this statement because I noticed that I only wear three pair of shoes every summer. And if I can make it work, so can you.

Mix and match the style and color however you like to fit your wardrobe, but with these three pairs of summer shoes, you’ll be all set…

The Wedge

The Myrna has been my go-to wedge for the past few summers, but this year I decided to up the ante with the Kork-Ease Ava ($140). It has double the platform and double the heel height, which *fingers crossed* doubles the length of my legs.

The Strappy Sandal

I snagged the Franco Sarto Gia ($69) last year on a sale rack and loved them so much that I tracked them down and bought another pair, but they’ve held up so well that I haven’t had to touch the spare. Ditch the flip flops and find yourself a pair of leather sandals with some personality.

The Dressy Flat

The Felicia by Sole Society ($59) has the tiniest of heel and the nicest touch of texture to go with your summer sundresses and ankle length pants (more on those in an upcoming post). If you prefer, the open-toed Melissa ($59) is just as nice. (And if you’re feeling the love, use my Sole Society referral link.)

  1. First of all, can I just say that I love the statement “ditch the flop flops!” Seriously, they are the bane of my existence. You are so right. Spring/summer is pretty much all flats and wedge sandals for me. I need some new flat strappy sandals. As soon as it’s warm enough to expose my toes to the outdoors, I’ll start trying some on.

    1. I remember discussing your flip flop hatred last summer. I think there’s a time and a place. If you can look fancier at the same comfort level DO IT.

    1. They’re all super comfy! The Kork-ease especially. I used to be the girl that walked everywhere in 3+ in heels and now I can barely make it out the front door. Comfy is my jam.
