2010 Vancouver Olympics
So, how amazing would it be to have the opportunity to be a Torchbearer at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics? In an effort to get more kids out and active, Coca-Cola Canada has paired with ParticipACTION to offer 1,000 teenagers a chance to have their moment in the spotlight, running the Olympic torch in the relay to Vancouver.
The Olympics are an inspiring event for everyone, but Coca-Cola and Active Halifax Communities has taken the excitement of the games a step further by actively inspiring kids to participate in physical activity and sporting teams. SOGO Active is a fantastic website where kids can login, find out what’s going on in their area, join teams and hook up with friends to take part in team sports, physical activity, and active socializing. Kids are just at the computer long enough to find a local activity and then head out to join in the fun!
To get their chance to be an official Olympic Torchbearer, all kids have to do is sign up and take part in activities. That’s all there is to it! Join in, have fun, and you might get a chance of a lifetime! Who knows…maybe one of the winners will be participating in the Olympics one day, all because Coca-Cola Canada and ParticipATION inspired them to get active!

That sounds like a great idea! I know I would have done it for sure as a teenager…I’d probably do it now if they allowed adults to enter:-)

Maureen – I’d totally enter if I were eligible! That’s a huge honor.

Karen – I think it would be a total blast. I have a client who carried the torch in the Atlanta Olympics, and she had the best time.
