Irony be damned, I’m taking a break from blogging to attend a blogging conference. I’ll be at Izeafest, Disney World, Busch Gardens, and Seaworld this weekend and I’m already predicting that I’ll say “I’m totally blogging that” at least 10x a day.

I also hope to catch some snaps of other bloggers in compromising positions, because a blogging conference recap isn’t any good without hot hot blogger gossip. I mean, I did bring you the story of the toe picking blogger at Blogher and filled a select few of you in on the blogger that showed up drunk/high to the one session I attended.

That’s right – I spread blogger rumors, so watch yourself.

Ciao sweets.

I may not have a house, but at least I look pretty.

I think I’ve figured out why we don’t have any money for a downpayment on a house.

RIP

Can a person die from back pain? Because I’m pretty sure I’m taking my last breaths as I blog. That’s why I’ve decided to publish a quick obituary.

Corrin was a talented blogger; highly intelligent and articulate, with a penchant for sarcasm and a flair for the dramatic. She earned her Masters Degree from Indiana University in 2005 but never earned enough money to justify the cost of tuition. She was pretty, kind, charming, well-dressed, pleasantly plump, had more good hair days than bad, and loved animals (except cats).

Much to her husband’s chagrin, Corrin used coupons, slept with the fan on, mooned people regularly, and never swept the floor.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Visa to pay off Corrin’s credit card debt before her husband sees the current balance on their joint account.

Please use the comments below to say a few kind words about Corrin and how she touched your life.

Attention Bookworms – A GIVEAWAY

prizeypick

Congratulations to our winner…Danel!

Great news! The Creature ABC giveaway below is a Prizey pick! Thanks to Prizey for reconigzing what a great giveaway this is and welcome to everyone from Prizey and good luck!

OnceinaBlueMoonGeek. Nerd. Dweeb. Bookworm. Egghead. Bluestocking. I’ve been called them all (primarily by my husband), but I still have my nose in a book every single day. Why? Because books like Once In A Blue Moon by Eileen Goudge keep me reading.

Sure, it’s chic-lit, but it’s engaging and entertaining and a welcome way to spend my lunch break. Especially since the book is about two sisters and an exotic dancer named Honi Love, which pretty much sums up my life.

That is – if I knew an exotic dancer named Honi Love. And if my sister and I were complete opposites, one of which gets adopted by a lovely family while the other bounces from one foster home to the next.

Just a note – I get the lovely family, because this is my book review, damnit.

Anyway – Once In A Blue Moon is the classic story of the trials and tribulations of two sisters, how they become separated, and how they are finally reunited. Like I said, not exactly highbrow, but a delightfully guilty pleasure on par with VC Andrews books. Which pretty much means I love it.

Once In A Blue Moon is released on September 26th, but I highly recommend you preorder it and plan on spending an evening in the tub enjoying this book. ___________________________________________________________

Creature ABC by popular wildlife photographer Andrew Zuckerman is a new favorite. I even have my own copy that I won’t be giving away.

Each letter of the alphabet features a phenomenal animal portrait on a stark white background that really showcases the animal and the excellent photography. The photos are so clear you can see the individual quills on the porcupine and the scales on the goldfish.

There’s even a glossary with additional information on each animal featured in the book. It’s a truly exceptional book and I want you to have a copy! Here’s how to enter:

Leave a comment telling me your favorite animal.

Twitter a link to this giveaway. Include @CorrinRenee and the hashtag #CreatureABC

Make sure to leave a separate comment for each entry.

The fine print… Entries will be accepted until midnight, Thursday, October 1st. One winner will be chosen at random and announced on Friday, October 2nd. GIVEAWAY – Your Songs by Harry Connick Jr.

your songs

Congratulations to our winner…Rebecca Graham!

Work has been hectic the past week, but today is different. Today is sunny and cool and I’m calm and relaxed. And Harry Connick Jr’s new CD, Your Songs, is the perfect soundtrack for a day I’m determined to keep low-key.

Harry’s newest CD is full of classic songs from iconic performers retuned in Harry Connick Jr’s signature style, complete with a full jazz, big band and string orchestra. Lets all take a second to swoon – I’ve always had a thing for Harry. He’s handsome and talented and accomplished.

I just love putting in a brand new CD and knowing all the words – and Your Songs is light and airy and fabulous background music to any day.

All The Way (Frank Sinatra)
Just The Way You Are (Billy Joel)
Can’t Help Falling In Love With You (Elvis Presley)
And I Love Her (The Beatles)
(They Long To Be) Close To You (The Carpenters)
Besame Mucho
The Way You Look Tonight
First Time Ever I Saw Your Face (Roberta Flack)
Your Song (Elton John)
Some Enchanted Evening
And I Love You So (Don McLean)
